MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 4:58 PMNot sure if this has been brought up yet or not, if it has I'm sorry, but reading the Empire story about Prometheus, I saw something that Charlize Theron had said about her character Vickers.
She says she has the biggest agenda of the whole crew, she won't say what that agenda is, but she says she has close links to two of Prometheus' passengers.
Now from everything I'm reading, it seems that she is also a synthetic, does that mean that besides David being an android, there is one more synthetic on the Prometheus no one else knows about?
How about it gang, what do you think? What would the agenda be, who else is a synthetic or does she share something totally different with two other passengers?

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 5:48 PMI don't buy into the whole Vickers is a synthetic thing, too cliche and predictable.
The two ties mentioned in the Empire article are with Weyland (who we know is along for the ride), and Shaw, with whom she had a fling when they were younger.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 5:51 PMif there is an 'artificial person' (synth is very offensive), it is Vickers...
No one else fits the criteria...Janek, Fifield, Holloway, Shaw they are all too human

MemberFacehuggerMar-29-2012 7:37 PMVickers had a fling with Shaw? I dont remember that anywhere.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 8:50 PMSomeone directed me to this discussion. I kind of believe Vickers is one of the SJ/Engineer race and is defending interests of that "company" and no other's.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 9:15 PMI would be very wary of falling into the trap of believing that Vickers is also an android. Sure she looks and seems to act very "android-like", but I think that's exactly the point.
As I've said here before, that is exactly the type of contrast that Ridley Scott would love to make: the android that acts very human vs. the human who acts very much like a machine. I'm almost certain that Vickers is human because of the fact that she acts so machine like, not in spite of it.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 9:47 PMthe coming, I believe the "synths" themselves said (don't remember where) that they preferred "synthetic" over "android" and the like....
