FUTURE PUBLISHING EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE REVEAL
Prometheus Forum Topic

MemberOvomorphApril 04, 20122315 Views34 RepliesCommunity - I work for Future Publishing in London. On Tuesday 10th April at a secret central London location we are going to be shown exlusive footage from Prometheus, followed by a Q & A with Ridley, Charlize, Noomi and Michael. I am totaly stoked about getting my invite and have the golden opportunity to ask Ridley and co a superb question. I thought as the biggest fan of this franchise on Earth (next to all this community) I would have that covered. However my head is spinning. So I put the question to y'all. What question would you like to ask Ridley and co about this movie should you have the chance!

Being myself based in London my question is: is there any way to get invited? How do I apply for a job at Future Publishing? :D
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

damn first of all i'm jealous ... like real Jealous ... 2ndly i think there will be too many qtns from the members to ask ... ;)

bigbirdjimmyApril 04, 2012
I think a good question is a basic one: how long will the film be? I think that that Rating question has been asked to many times and well I don't think the length has been discussed. I know it has been discussed kat this website but has it been asked to Sir Ridley?
Good luck and have fun! I am so jelious!

Last time I heard, Frantz claimed 190 minutes, which if true is as you know 3 hours and ten minutes, which I find extremely hard to believe but which would also be Incredible if it turns out to be true.

bigbirdjimmyApril 04, 2012
Thanks Sparty! I think we all hope its 190 minutes. I think that it would be so epic.

I would just ask; that you do YOUR research into what others have already asked.
Please don't ask trivial questions like the following:
about how it felt on set to see therons ass, fasbenders faspenis ..etc:
how it felt to work with "insert name"
anything about oldschool "blanK"
In alien, aliens AVP ...Please PLEASE realize this is a "DIFFERENT MOVIE"
Try to get "some insider info" without spoiling the plot and possibly use a follow up to "milk" info
Mr. Scott ; What will you be taking away from this movie experience and applying to the new Bladerunner? < see what I did there?>
That is what I do anyways ;)

BigDaveApril 04, 2012
Well Ridley is not known for answering questions and i dont think he is going to give anything away about the plot.
I suppose one about the Space Jockeys would be are they a actual Race or are they a Hybrid/Mutation?

by the way Rick, I figured out that it isn't so much that you need a great surround system to hear it, it's that it happens so fast it's hard to pick up if you aren't paying particular attention to it, it happens at the moment he finishes uttering the line "finish my coffee"...he then does it...with the one cheek sneak...then he says "it's the only thing good on this ship"! Ridley 100% left it in deliberately, there is NO WAY he did not know of it. For me, it is the single greatest unknown fact about that film !!! And as far as I know...am quite proud to have discovered it.

How about this folks " with prometheus you appear to be touching on massive questions surrouunding the very essense of human beings evolution. Is there going to be a revelation in Prometheus that blows our minds and opens doors?" I just want to really hit them with something a little unexpected should I get the opportunity. I do like the basic "what is the running time". Though!

Q: After 33 years, will "Prometheus" finally establish canon for properly naming the "space jockey", wether it be a suit, or the race/species that occupies said suit?

Geddy GigerApril 04, 2012
Congrats and good luck! I wouldn't even ask the "stars" anything (just because they're so, um, kwell), focus straight in on Ridley. Perhaps go over all of the trailers again and like others above recommended, stay away from the "how does this compare to...?" type of questions. What is the significance of the SJ chair and the exoskeleton suits they wear that we've seen thus far?

If you'd have one single question, pls ask him: WHAT TIME IS IT NOW IN NEW YORK?
Just "jocking" in the space!! no, of course ask him what is his inspiration to create fresh new scary monsters for Prometheus?
Go for it!

High priest I love what you wrote and my thoughts on it are as follows....
"absolutely"
@ ELP or rather "Brain Salad Surgery"... "The Engineers" !

EnderApril 04, 2012
Try to trap them into revealing the existence of multiple androids.
Like saying "Ridley..... do you feel David has a more interesting relationship with his human crew members than his synthetic ones?"
There is obviously a more clever way - I just cant think of one

Alien DNAApril 04, 2012
Ask Ridley what his username is on here, so we can finally put that to rest. haha

FrantzApril 04, 2012
ask
" We want this movie to be 5 hous ...how long it will be ?? Dont tell us it below the two hours and half because i will jump out the window ..i swear i wil do "

Alien DNAApril 04, 2012
I wouldn't mind a 3 hour PG/PG-13 if there was a 5 hour "R" Directors Cut on Blu Ray Frantz. LOL

OMG have fun!
I would ask him, what exactly are the androids in Alien (and the series) made of and what technology made them so lifelike. A pretty basic question, that never has been answered in 30 years.

I have a lot of questions, so I'll just put down a few.
I like the Android questions, and digging for an answer to see if there is more than one on the Prometheus ship.
Is there more than one derelict ship in this movie?
Why does the Space Jockey look so much like humans? Why are there two different sized Space Jockeys? (The one on the derelict when it is working with the green orb appears larger than the one on Prometheus fighting Shaw.)
Is there an element of time distortion in this movie? (Overlapping timelines)
Is Peter Weyland looking for a way to cheat death?
Why would several human civilizations be pointing to this planet where there seems to be limited life and not a true civilization? What happened to them?
The Space Jockey's appear to be far more advanced then humans and certainly more than the xenomorphs. Besides the stone writing on walls and the map room, how do the Space Jockey's communicate with each other and with humans? Or does this not have very much significance to the movie?
Sorry for rambling on with a list of questions. Hopefully one of these are useful. I'm really jealous! Have an awesome time.

I would have one.
In Science fiction genre, it seems there is a huge majority of movies which depict extraterrestrial life as a threat for mankind. Prometheus seems to enter this category as well. Could you express your true feeling about ETs, UFO and what is your true belief regarding "other lives" ?

My question is this>
Give that time is infinite
And given that space is also infinite.........would you like a piece of toast lol?
No seriously.........my big question would be......why the hell did you turn the Space Jockey into a stupid blue man and try to ruin what i thought would answer what the original Space Jocky was.....for me.....personally.
Failing that......are there any Xenomorphs in it?
Failing that one.......have any of my theories on this site been right lol?

Geddy GigerApril 04, 2012
...and tell him the exploding bodies and heads (from RPGs) in Black Hawk Down were very effective!

CinefanApril 04, 2012
I would like to know. What was the hardest decision Scott had to make to decide to make Prometheus?
raveisApril 05, 2012
Wow! Congrats!!
*massivly envy*
Dont forget to take an autograph from Ridley :P
I even have a Alien joystick for my Sega Master System :D

I bought the new issue of EMPIRE magazine; awesome holographic cover and great coverage of Prometheus. The cast give their perspective on the movie and Sir Ridley Scott answers all the questions you could ever ask! Definitely worth the cash:
