REVIEWS?

The High Priest
MemberOvomorphMay 27, 2012950 Views14 RepliesOK, so I am seeing Prometheus at Londons BFi Imax this Friday. Just dawned on me - Why are there no reviews of this film yet? Its on general release in 5 days. Any ideas/reasons anyone?

It hasn't been press screened yet. Given how tight they're keeping it all I can't see them doing so until the day before full release. So the first you'll probably get is kermode and mayo on radio 5 live on friday 1st.

Thanks for the heads up. Just read one of the reviews and seems promising. I mean obv I'm all about Prometheus (pre-orderded tickets day tickets for availabe for sale for Imax 3D showing) but I still though Snow White looked pretty intriguing especially with Charlize Theron in it as the Queen (yum).

No idea... but, Hi High Priest, haven't seen you in awhile!
Should there be some reviews out by now?

Yeah, haven't really had much to post as there is such a flood of tv spots, trailers etc - I think the story is pretty much there. Scientists go out, steal some artifacts, Weyland has a seperate agenda that really pisses "dormant" Jockeys off - crew get really fucked up/infected. Jockeys impregnate Shaw - Shaw gives birth to a disgusting hybrid Alien - All hell breaks loose. Still some great mysteries to discover but its 5 days now man......I hope Lineloff hasnt Cheese/lost it out! The hold back on reviews does concern me...I see there is another thread discussing this - Lock me up if required!! Speak soon Freeze Him! How do you feel about it all?

I wonder whether there has been pressure from Fox to keep reviews under wraps until the opening.
The BFCA website still states "Voting in progress" for Prometheus, even though a search on that site showed ever-changing figures in the past days (90/100, then 55/100 and now 63/100).
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

I agree with you for sure High, but maybe a spoiler alert should be put on this post. Just sayin', just to be safe for others.
I've seen a lot, yes, no room for regrets now, I like what I've seen so far.
I feel confident that we are going to get a nice film, one worth loving. Hopefully it is inspiring! As for worry on whether a review has been made thus far, far from my fears. I actually never pay attention to reviews, because they are the opinions of someone I don't know and might not agree with, freeze has spoken! lol : P

I've been checking on EmpireOnline a lot to see what they could give the film but still no review yet, also been looking there because I am intrigued to the review for Snow White, im unsure if it is going to be just visually entertaing but plotless or maybe a suprisingly nice combo of the two, making it a potentially good film.
High Priest:
I would have to disagree to some of your theories concerning the plot outline, especially the 'Space Jockey's impregnate Shaw' part. I was more under the impression that Holloway gets Shaw pregnant while infected and she gives birth to an abomination that the Space Jockeys feel the need to destroy as well as punish us.

Their is some reviews on Snowwhite at IMDB.....apparently their was some early screening.....they not official reviews....but generally they mostly positive, they even gave Kristen Steward the thumbs up (surprisingly) and ofcause Theron rocks....but i knew she would....really looking forward to it!

Yes for me personally...Prometheus is the most anticipated movie of all time. I simply cannot wait!....but Theron looks so delightfully evil in Snow white...so it's my second most anticipated movie for at least 2012.

I read a post on IMDB that says critics are seeing the film on 30th May with the premiere in Leicester Square London on 31st May, so should start seeing reviews on late Wednesday I reckon.
Not really bothered what the critics think but still interested to see what they say about the film.
Roll on Friday!!!! Plan to see the film at least twice on Friday then probably again Sunday

Yeah I could go with your theory also, the thing that has me on the SJ tip re: impregnating Shaw, is I read some quickly pulled down script a couple of months ago that sounded awesome and didn't read like fanboy garbage. It had the jockeys using the "suit" to integrate liquids and shit into shaw who they had on some "weird" floating operation table. David was looking on. It was a real cat and mouse sequence through the Derelict or Temple - Dunno - probably BS but I really liked the feel of it!
