@NoXWord, I doubt the 'Derelict' is under the temple due to the footage we have seen of the hanger opening with Shaw on top of it. I would say the ship is either at the top of the mountain or close to the temple at ground level. There is an old post with a diagram of how it could look, I can't remember who posted it though sorry... I get where you are coming from with the scans the balls are highlighting though, but I imagine these are rooms within the mountain / temple.....

I thought the same, Bella, the opening is outside the temple, so I was in doubt as well, yet the layout and shape of those chambers is the same as the ship, and I don't mean "same" as in "vaguely globular" but as in "exactly the same shape": look at the big chamber right beneath the spiral shaft and the big chamebr right to the left and to the right of the orrery. It might be that there are more ships, that those rooms are just similar to those in the ship, or that when the ship moves towards the exit the temple above it collapses.

Or the picture we are seeing doesn't show the 3D very well, the 'Derelict' could be directly in front or behind of the temple and the tunnel that looks vertical actually runs diaganolly away from the temple to the hanger / lower rooms....

I really didnt want to mention this ((I had a secondary or alternate theory I was going to post just prior to the release date)), but after seeing that interior "temple" or mountain scan, I think that maybe Ridley is going for a complete mind twist here... That really looks like the layout of a ... H I V E to me folks. Sorry, it does... and that would pretty much throw out ALL of the theories that we have been throwing around here so far. Could it be??

Yes, and my theory is that the King's Race got annihalated there first and try to warn Humanity but the Engineers decide to terraform our world and whipe us out for stealing some of the ampules. "prolly" look at us like some sort of disease to them and their race.

I like the idea of a hive. But I can't see it being a xeno hive, maybe the 'progenitor' to the species. I think what they find is the home world of the Engineers. But they have envolved to such an extent that they live for thousands of years but cannot breed effectively anymore. Through genetic problems their species is slowly dying. The temple / hive / mountain may be like a 'termite mound' and the humans stumble accross this, which is either some sort of weapon that the Engineers are harvesting or a scientific study that the Engineers are undertaking to harness the 'reproductive' and 'growth' of the progenitor to the Xenomorph. Obvioulsy something goes wrong........

In the trailer we can see that that painting is located in Scotland (we see it twice: the first time in loco, and the second time when Holloway does the briefing). And now this picture points at China. Plain mistake or hint to something else?
