MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 7:26 AMHey Fellow Prometheans!
I think this community is very unique. In light of that, I've got 4 unrelated questions I'd like to ask each of you to see if we have some "other" aspects in common. (I tried doing this previously by asking members to PM me but I didn't get enough responses). So if I try it this here, we'll have to be on the honor system.
That means you'll need to reply with your responses WITHOUT reading anyone else's, OK? That way, individual answers won't be swayed by reading previous ones.
Please read and immediately respond to the following 4 questions. AFTER responding, then go back and read what others have left and let's see if we have any corellations. I'll tally things up in a few days and post anything interesting I find.
(My apologies to those of you who already PM'd me. If you wouldn't mind posting here, I'd love to hear from you... again!)
Please answer these questions seriously.
1. What's your favorite color?
2. Are you right or left handed?
3. Do you have a recurring dream, perhaps from childhood, that is your favorite?
4. Has a movie ever given you a migraine? (Not from technical aspects like camera movements/editing, but because you thought it was the movie/message itself?
Thanks! Remember to respond before reading anyone else's answers!

3. Yes, flying dreams. They usually took place around my home or childhood neighborhood/grade school. I remember I used to wake up so pissed off when I realized they were dreams.
4. "Contact" with Jodie Foster.

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 7:47 AMIn the immortal words of Spartacus... (ie: this is his info.!):
1. Metallic Purple
2. Right Handed
3. No, Only the one in which Charleze Theron and I are Married
4. No, But when I finally snuck into the theater to see "Jaws", complete with Hockey Pucks stuffed in Cowboy Boots to make me look taller at the wicket. I was so nervous and I had built it all up that day so much I couldn't eat and was so excited that by the time Ben Gardner's Head popped out of the hull of his boat...I got dizzy and nauscius in my seat for a good 15-20 minutes and was scared I was going to "woof my cookies" right there on the seat in the theater...Luckily My brother ran to the consessions and came back with some water and a candybar...But I'll tell ya, for a while there I felt like I was human parts floating for hours in shark infested waters just waiting to be finished off.

On a Galleon ship in the water, which turns to lava before a big demon rises out of the lava to prophecise the end of the world.

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 8:49 AM@ db - Seems our answers are very similar! Especially the flying one around the neighbourhood. I too would be very upset when I woke and realised it wasnt real...although sometimes I would ask myself "Did/can I really fly?" LOL
It was always a really weird way of flying too, like Im sitting down in an invisible chair. If I straighten my legs so its like Im standing up straight, I will go down, but if I put my knees up in a sitting position, I go up! LMFAO!
But anyway here are my answers....again -
1] Not quite sure....Black, blue or green(in alphabetical order)
2] Right Handed but was born left handed. Still have a left handed stance in boxing though(but its also considered a right hand stance in other martial arts so....)
3] Flying above home or neighbourhood/school etc
4] Dont know.
Ive noticed a lot of our favourite colours are kinda blue, green and black....

Killing zombies in my neighborhood.
Watching Ghost in the Shell in the theater in Japan. (My Japanese was so-so at the time. Translating such a deep plot, in my head, almost killed me.)
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 9:32 AM1. Orange, I think from my days as a kid growing up and watching Dukes of Hazzard.
2. Right Handed.
3. Not really any reoccurring, but one from my childhood would be of playing outside on a really nice day with my brother and a friend that lived across the street.
4. Can't really think of one but maybe that's because I have buried and repressed it so I wouldn't remember? lol

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 9:36 AM@Whydonttheyfreezehim:
Yes, you reminded me that my "flying" was a process as well.
At first, my neighbor (Mrs. Easely) would have to throw me off her shoulders for it to work. If anyone else tried, I'd faceplant...
Then about 6 yrs. old), it was a bike-riding motion with my legs (think Elliot in ET) only I'd lift off the bike and it would go crashing down.
Then, later on (probably about 10 yrs. old) I could just run down a hill and "get that feeling" that I could just leap and catch air. No leg motions, no flapping arms, just catch the updraft... and I was off! Felt the wind on my face and clothes, could bank using my outstreched arms... I was a damn superman.
That lasted until my mid-teens. But if I got as high as the tree-tops, I'd always get a little nervous. If that happened, I always began losing height and eventually tumbled onto the grass... or if someone saw me, I'd lose it, (the ability). It pissed me off because i thought: "I have this cool thing I want to show off, but if I do, it won't work!"
Then, entering adulthood (what's that?), I could only fly at the height most people were walking, eventually dropping to just skimming the ground... and I thought "what's the point?"
Then I quit having them altogether. Growing up sucks.
(Gee maybe we should start a "flying dreams" thread. I bet we'd blow each other's minds.)

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 9:39 AMfunny about flying, I never dreamed it, I was it, I would run up to the third floor of our house with a Batman or Superman cape on as a little boy and jump out the window thinking I could ! Think I gave both my parents Heart Attacks as a child!

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 9:50 AM@ db - Yup! Same here about the getting nervous if someone seen me or if I floated to tree top level Id start losing height! And the part where you can only fly to the height of people! Those dreams were so good. I never have them any more :(
I dont even have many nightmares now either(I used to have loads of BAD ones...but kinda liked most of them LOL)
And yes, growing up sucks!

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 10:09 AMFlying Dream: The weirdest one I can remember is flying above my church in my old hometown. I'd never been there before and it struck me as odd. I was able to land on the roof and my shoe got stuck in a patch of tar. It pissed me off because I couldn't run good off the roof to fly so I had to shimmy down a drain pipe to get down.
The next Sunday, I was headed to sunday school and overheard the janitor saying to someone that the roof got damaged by a storm and was leaking and he was going to need to fix it soon. Coincidence, or was I time-travel-dreaming-flying?

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 3:12 PMCan't say I've seen it but it looks bad. Not sure I can beat it...but if its a chick flick (be it major motion picture or direct to DVD) my wife thinks its great.

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 3:21 PM1. Blue and Green
2. I write using my right hand, but for many tasks I use my left hand. I would say about 50%-50% left-right handed (that's what I got from right-left handedness tests)
3. When I was a kid I remember I loved a recurrent dream of a house with hundreds of furnished rooms one leading into another, endlessly.
4. No migraine, but recently I found out that I fall asleep easily when watching a movie, especially (don't laugh) action sequences. The best naps I remember are "Iron Man" (the final battle) and Babylon A.D. (I can only remember my friend waking me up at the ending credits).
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.
