OK so here's yet another thread with pics we've all seen. I just have a quick question... So we know that the Empire article confirmed that the tall blue/grey guy is the jockey and the head statue represents said Jockey. This can "kinda" be proven by looking at the unique features of both the statue and the face of the blue guy. (Both are missing the divot/indent most people have on the bridge of their nose between their eyebrows and/or eyes.) OK well this next picture is not as clear as the above two...but is this image of the changing Holloway show that he no longer has the divot/indent at the bridge of his nose? (I know its difficult to tell due to the quality of the zoomed image.) Just to prove that pre-mutation Logan does have that divot/indent that most people have... Thoughts...? Is Holloway turning into a "Jockey"? Am I just seeing things?

Intriguing If the Eel is going in his arm, as evidenced by the worm thing in his eye, then maybe the Space Jockey's are able to create a host body by first infecting it. Yes, I'm saying the Space Jockey's may actually be the Eels (a la stargate).

not a bad theory...I'm also starting to think the eels may be more than just simple life forms.

I think the SJ shown heading towards the chair is Holloway, as is the being that is after Shaw in the newer trailer - just what I think...

Let me flesh out my thinking (warning - I'm making this up as I type)... The Eels are sentient lifeforms, but also symbiotic. Although they can exist without a body, it is when they have a host that they are truly Space Jockey's. They attack a host before entering the body, once inside they rewrite the hosts DNA to make them into the ideal host (blue skin, no hair, no nose-bridge) while also becoming the dominant consciousness.

@Snorkelbottom Makes sense to me. And it has "ALIEN DNA"... Parasite aliens using humans as hosts for an ultimate purpose.

Yeah, I'd considered the possibility of a symbiosis between sentient worms and human hosts...... but then I rejected it, for the simple reason that it's been done before....on TV......so, I really, really hope that isn't what's going on. I'd prefer to think of the worms as a delivery system, or engineered genetic disease vectors.

There isn't much that hasn't been done before. If old concepts are re-used hopefully what will set this film apart will be in the presentation.

I dunno, RickK, there are already slightly unnerving "ancient astronaut" parallels between "Stargate" and "Prometheus." Goa'uld symbiosis would just be one too many, IMO.

Wasn't the Goa'uld symbiosis also featured in ST: Deep Space Nine? (I forgot the character's name.) Even if the worms have nothing to do with the actual jockey characters, I still think Holloway turns into one of those blue SJ's.

Yea its creepy with the thought that the space jockeys lay dorment in an eel form. That would actually disappoint me. I hope the worms are just a way to infect people and turn them into skeletal monstrousitys and the space jockeys are just god like beings that live a long time and get mad and wanna destroy earth.

Great work draekus! Great spot! Like everyone else here who's guessing at the film's intentions based on a few minutes of dis-jointed footage, I hope we see some fresh concepts and a new sic-fi/ horror story perspective from Ridley and his people. "Pleeeeeeeeease!" (Shaw voice)

If the Jockey is mutated from Holloway I wonder why the one of the four sarcophagus in the chair room is open. Here is my hypothesis: 1. The goo mutates Human into SJ form. Eel is nasty defensive sideeffect. 2. The sarcophagus helps to finish the transformation. 3. The SJ form then needs to wear the SJ suit and sit in the chair. 4. The telescope above the chair then serves to download the SJ mind to the SJ form seated in the chair. 5. The SJ mind is originally located elsewhere, the telescope points to the place of origin of the SJ mind. 6. The completed/downloaded SJ then goes to colonize... and use host bodies. I think it makes sense. The large SJ head is symbol of SJ mind. The ampules are vessels - used to make suitable hosts for the mind.

@pvt: Ooh, chills, original idea, demented, (but only from a human perspective.) If we're the bacteria being mutated, the ants being experimented on, for the good of a greater mind (not "better" but greater), so be it. ...A little forced evolution anyone? Nice, nice, nice.

@pvt I dont doubt that holloway is the blue sj. But im not convinced that the whole SJ race is derived from worms and goo.

I'll be utterly amazed if some, any Human in this film, mutates into an "Engineer". It seems to fit but somehow I just do NOT think that happens...still...I differ to you experts...if you say so...then I will have to accept it just like if it does actually happen in the film, I will accept it, and Like Ridley has said it's about a lot bigger things then we think.
