Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

The blue dude is not an SJ and I can prove it.

I know some people consider the blue dude from the trailer to be an SJ but let me convince you otherwise. For the last 30 years sci-fi fans have wondered about the SJ. Where he was from, what he looked like, what he was doing on the derelict. Since RS confirmed that the movie would be about the SJs fans have been excited hoping that their questions will be answered. Now that the movie is almost here it’s still shrouded in secrecy with the cast and RS refusing to give away any of the plot line. With that in mind, can you really imagine that RS would give the game away by showing us the SJ in a trailer? It’s entirely unlikely he would unveil a 30 year old mystery so casually.

The Blue Humanoid & Space Jockeys are two separate species. I think our Xenos is the offspring of their genetic experiments. Yes, Blue Human + Space Tapir = Xenos, the interplanetary bastard child

Given that essentially all of us naturally assumed that the form we saw in "Alien" was the "true" form of an SJ, it actually makes perfect sense to let that particular cat out of the bag early. In this case, it's entirely possible that confusing WTF?! moment would be counterproductive to the narrative flow. As clearly evidenced by numerous threads on this forum, ( inculding this one, ) it takes a while to get your head around/accept.

OK. 100% proof maybe not. But I still highly doubt RS would spoil the surprise in a trailer.

Based on what EGR101?...the fact that we know it's a suit and the fact we recognize the biomechanical look of the Blue guy logically suggest he is a SpaceJockey.....there is no evidence to suggest there is another race..none whasover..people just don't like the idea of the Jockey being humanoid in appearance...tough noogies people...it is what it is.....

The big surprise is presumably the plot - not the physical appearance of The Space Jockey.

Exactly visualizer.......There is obviously a hell of a lot more going on here than we realize, but there's nothing to suggest a second alien race...it's wishfull thinking...

@TheNextLV426; Very very well thought out, yet, at the same time we cannot really call that 100% proof, but I do think it is about as close as any kind of substantiating statement can get on this matter right now. At the same time I kind of hope you are correct in the end, because I would want the "moment of realization of the truth" to be a very special moment indeed.

I think the SJs look creepy as hell....go figure.....and if they can use their minds to make people quiver like puppets on a string, as it appears they can.....well, xenos don't remotely possess that kind of power, do they?

I still don't think the space jockey is using mind control. He is using realistic writing. Most people would shit themselves. It's humanities first contact with an alien species. I at least know that I would barf everywhere. She seems to be taking it pretty well with just the thousand mile stare.

The guy next to her, looks scared shitless, and there's nothing natural about her movements. I'm not so sure it doesn't go beyond "simple" mind control, to telekinesis. It looks like the SJ waves an empty hand, and either the guy to her right is simply trying to get out of the way, or he's being thrown by some unseen force. Edit: it's at :51 in the comicon trailer....and she definitely moves towards the SJ, which would make no sense if she's supposed to be paralyzed in fear.

The bio-mechanical look of the blue guy is a suit. The damn thing has sleaves with hand openings and a neck opening. If that's not a suit, they need to work on tying his look together.

That's one thing I really hope. In the end the word jockey refers to a rider, so by space jockey we can refer to someone/something that would pilot the alien ship, rather than a whole species. Maybe the engineers are not seen, maybe they are the microscopic matter that manipulates organic mass, maybe the goo is just one of their tools, and they turn their hosts (e.g. Holloway and Fifield) into beings that can interface to the ship. Yes, there are other things, like worms and squids that would need to fit in the plot. Mine are just superficial speculations, I don't like to speculate too much over the plot. But when I look at the trailer for Alien, I can't see the alien itself. There's just a brief glimpse of the facehugger, and nothing else. The egg is an essential concept, but from the trailer one can only speculate as to it takes part in the plot. Nobody looking at the Alien trailer can really tell what is going to happen, what this "Alien" really is or does, even though one can easily imagine a rough plot (but without any twists). Ash being a robot? There are some hints, but I've never seen a robot squirting milk, so I wouldn't know until I see the film. The life cycle? Completely hidden. Also, in the trailer there's the cat, which could give way to lots of speculation, and in the end it's just a plot device to make other things happen. This is to say that if Ridley Scott is a master of his craft, his trailers are not just hiding the plot, but also something really important and vital to the success of the movie. Something that will be only seen in the movie. My 2 cents
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Still not convinced. Do they have a debate class at your school? It might do you some good.

@Biehn_Bandit. Yes, I've noticed that too. The feet are clearly biomechanical, but as you said, it appears as if a sleeve ends at the wrist. I hope it isn't supposed to be just a suit......that ends up....in another suit?!? I'd prefer to imagine that the SJs have actually modified their physical bodies with biomechanical tech. Perhaps it was dictated by some kind of limitation in costuming and will be addressed through CGI in post......as we've already seen changes to the object David pulls out of the urn.....

Thing is...the guy who wrote the article for Empire magazine said that the blue humanoids ARE indeed the space jockeys. At least that's what everyone told him when he visited the set in preparation to write the article. Now, could the cast and crew have lied to the writer by giving him false info...that's certainly possible. But I honestly doubt it. To me, none of this really matters. What matters is that this movie turns out good. I definitely won't be upset if the SJ is humanoid in appearance or if he's just a mutated crew member or w/e it is Ridley has in store. When it comes to Sci-Fi, I'm choosing to trust in Ridley until I see his film. Now to those that believe Ridley would not show us the SJ/main creature in a trailer...I agree 110% with you. However, I am also 110% sure that the studio would over rule Ridley and show said SJ/main creature in the trailer to get more people to go see the movie.

Yeaaaah. Think about the Derelict skeleton. The skull alone is WAY to big for any of the scenes we've seen with Mr.Blue to be considered a SJ I said it a few days ago, Ridley claimed the aliens are weapons Mr Blueis probably the equivelent of a bio-car key imo . I think that NoXWord hit the nail on the head with the ALIEN trailer refrence. Plus you can see a skull being scanned in the Theatrical trailer that in NO way resembles Mr Blue. It looks exactly like the SJ from the Derelict. No i think Mr.Blue is a result of some creepy bio-tech crossed with Holloway at the hands of the real SJs.
