I mean come on, he MUST have had orders from the company, they are usually airtight in every respect, you think they were going to get lax with Bishop's mission?
It's hard to believe they would just let him take it easy and be the good guy

Number 2, well, the only person that's been screwed by the Company and lived to tell about it was Ripley. No one was given much incentive to not trust him.
