Makes sense! Have you read the post regarding the SJ "suit" and how it is literally biomechanically connected to the ship? I think it was first mentioned on the thread regarding the new images, specifically the mural.

In fact it could be possible that a xeno could eventually grow to become the derelict ship.......

The ship self repairs? In other words it's like a Borg Cube.

Or a Corg Bube, Shilliam Watner. Anyway, I would love the idea.

I think it's very plausible that the ship is alive and can self-repair. Like previously mentioned technologies (Borg), I was also thinking of the large ship from Skyline that reassembles. (On a tangent, that talk of reassembly makes me want to watch Vampire Hunter D and Hellsing again...) Re-assembly could also quell the fears of some that there is more than one SJ ship, i.e., the one in Prometheus isn't the one in Alien. We see the Prometheus ram the SJ ship, and we we see the SJ ship crash, but nobody can say for certain that the SJ ship is out of commission.

2fray2, we seem to have made the same thoughts known on the same day today... mine I talked about in someone else's thread... the gist being the ship is as alive as the Space Jockeys, Xenos, and the big giant head, a result of the "means of life" being misused by those who stole it millions of years ago, and used it to seed earth with before the gods found out and everything went terribly wrong. Hell, the planet could even be going through some kind of transformation. All because of the theft - making the Space Jockeys the original Prometheus in this story.

If the ship were alive, the eggs that are eventually found could actually be produced by the ship itself, trying to find a means to reproduce. Not the ship's fault, necessarily, just a perverted result of the misuse the "fire."

I also think if we are to believe that such a literal Prometheus-like character existed at some point because of the new mural pic that was released, we can assume that, at some point, ZEUS is going to show up and crash the party, so to speak. My mind goes back to the clouds forming in the sky during the trailer...

I also had post about this ages ago and people laughed at the idea. It makes perfect sense of how the eggs came to be laying about in the underneath of the derelict. There clearly will be no queen in this movie so how the fcuk was they all laid? So if the ships alive it could be capable of laying eggs

SJ equivalent of Bio warfare maybe? Crash a fully "grown" ship with all of its contents on a planet and just let a speices curiosity do the rest? Like on LV-426? HmmmmmM?

I would rather go down the route that a Xenomorph hive has the potential to become a derelict, or at least the shell of one. An interesting idea nonetheless.
