According to the Weyland Viral marketing site. As of 2074 the Prometheus project had raised 2.4 trillion towards it's goal. The estimated launch date is listed as 2081. It's return date is TBD. Not a good thing we already know.It's destination is also listed as classified. If they did launch on schedule, and the trip lasts for five years they would arrive at their destination sometime in 2086 or early 2087.

Don't worry about it Logan, and welcome by the way! I think the year 2091 comes from the birthdate of our future heroine Ellen Ripley... however, that does not figure into this story at all.

Ok thanks guys I was asking because i read some reports about the 15 minute test screening where the date shows on the screen but in some reports it says that Prometheus arrives at LV-223 in 2083 and in others it 's in 2093 not that it matters that much i was just being curious about how many years are between Prometheus and alien

Yeah, the date is also confusing me too. But if they launch it at 2081 and the journey takes 5 years for them to reach their destination, I'd guess it's late 2086, because wasn't there some sort of a Christmas tree in the 12min footage? Or is it just me?

Yes there was christmas three that Janek put up and someone said that the date was 21 december 2091 in the same report. Btw the journey to LV-223 didn't took 5 years it only took 2,5 years according to the 15 minute test screening and Michael Fassbender even said that David was walking around on the ship for 2,5 years thats why he was so excited they reached their destination
