Stop With The 'Everything's Transforming Into Face Hugger Eggs' Mentions....

People are just desparate to see a link with Alien lol. Im one of them.........i only like the Alien series BECAUSE it has the Alien in it. Im in love with that creature lol.....i want to sleep with it lol. Its just desparation at the thought that Riddles is gonna go off on some tangant that gets so far away from Alien that i just wont want to watch it. In fact the more i hear things like the Space Jockey is just a suit the more i hate the idea. For me at least, the Space Jockey was an actual elephantine kind of creature clearly with intelligence. When i first heard that it was about the Space Jockey i thought YEAHHHH its gonna rock.......but then we found out its just some blue guy in a suit of some kind........i then though BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Riddles is messing up my dream of finally finding out where it all began. I reckon im gonna be so let down ill want to cry lol.

A couple things.. 1) The Cameron discussion for Prometheus 2 was an april fools internet post/prank. 2) Even though Damon Lindelof has said Prometheus is not going to end with a derelict on LV-426 filled with eggs, he also made a comment that if you go to a Rolling Stones concert they better play "satisfaction". [i]Discussing the possible facehugger in the Prometheus IMAX trailer, Lindelof compared the movie to a rock concert, saying “If you go to a Rolling Stones show, they’d better play ‘Satisfaction,’ even if it’s as an encore.”[/i] So read into that what you will.

I totally agree with the OP. There's so many crazy outlandish things about urns morphing into eggs and robots into xenomorphs and so on. Yes, I think there's some changing going on with our fifield character but he still retains his humanoid look. I'm sure a couple of other similiar things like that happen but that will be the all. I think it's really cool we see new creatures like those eel worm like things. The creature described at the end of the 20 minute screening sounds like it's nasty. I don't need facehuggers and traditional aliens with all this new stuff we will be shown. It's fun to speculate but sometimes I feel that people who don't know better read the outlandish speculation and will think it's going to really happen. My friend the other day said he thought this movie would suck because he heard an android turns into an alien and I had to tell him that was just speculation and all. I've said it before, I just hope it's a great film because I havn't seen to many movies in theatres the past few years.

I agree with you. I do realize that in the original 'Alien' (Director's cut, I believe)..they showed that the captives were being transformed into eggs. However, I have always hated that idea and thought it was stupid. I know it's considered canon as it was in the original movie...but just because it's canon doesn't mean that I personally have to like the thought/concept. I MUCH prefer the concept that was introduced in Cameron's 'Aliens', with there being a Queen involved in the process. But that's just my own personal opinion :) I know the preferences of others may differ, and that's cool. Everyone's entitled to whatever they find 'coolest' :)

And that Rhinos is actually evolution as we know it..........in the insect world there is ALWAYS a queen of some kind. Its only logical.

I agree Mark :) I found that to be a more believable and intriguing concept, as opposed to hosts going through a metamorphosis into something completely different. I mean, sure it's fiction so anything 'can' happen....but, from a storytelling perspective it's about the 'suspension of disbelief'. Whether its film, literature, whatever. The best stories are the ones that believable enough to draw you in. ...and for me personally, the metamorphosis thing just didn't do it. I wasn't interested, I wasn't intrigued, I didn't want to learn more about it. It was more of a "meh...whatever" reaction. Whereas, on the other hand, the queen was really interesting to me, and I found myself wanting to see the scene over and over again; and wanting to learn more about it. So, to each their own....but for me, the queen was way cooler.

But not only has his head completely morphed into something else, but his arms have morphed longer and his suit has morphed too. If his suit can morph, why cant the ampules? Maybe they arent made of something like steel, but instead are made of something like a crocodile egg shell...or some other kind of biological casing? Sounds crazy but you never know.

There was serious talk outside the April Fools joke about Cameron taking on 'Prometheus 2' after 'Avatar 2' and whether he can actually manage it.... All's I'm saying is, the fact that they're even considering it is evidence of 'Prometheus' being canon to 'Aliens'.... Don't read too much onto that sentence anyways fellas...the face hugger eggs idea is what's more relevant on here

I hate the queen. There is no reason that a creature based on silicon with acid for blood has to reproduce in such a boring way. Transformation is way cooler and more terrifying.

Yeah, it looks like Fifield is turning into the creature in the mural. I like the idea about the suit too. Theoretically, it seems like the suit could be a part if the bio mechanical mutation.

Boring to me. I hate everything but Alien and I mean everything[canon and EU]. It lost the feel of metal hurlant and became Starship Troopers....A book I have nothing but disdain for. It became pointless action instead of horror. I also can't stand James Cameron and the endless mother/child relationships in his films. just leads to cheesy unrealistic dialog. then again, the only cameron film i like is the terminator unless we are counting his work on the horrible but hilarious Battle beyond the stars. Maybe I will put it this way. I like alien because it feels like European sci-fi. It is strangely paced, and exists mostly off atmosphere. Cameron took all that away from the series and any attempts to get it back have sucked. It went from being weird and odd to being female rambo fighting for her "daughter" in space. Not my thing.

I like both ideas. How about this: When there are few resources (Alien), the xeno could use its bio mechanical DNA to change the hosts into eggs to create more xeno's from the few subjects available, or if more become available. In cases like Aliens, it could use that method to start a process. After 5-10 xeno's have been created by restructuring DNA of hosts and collecting subjects, it has the resources to rapidly reproduce and exterminate a large population. A xeno (probably the oldest one) could change into a queen to mass produce eggs organically, and allow the other startup xeno's to collect the subjects for infestation. This way, the xeno is using all of its available built in adaptability to adjust properly to whatever its environmental situation is, and achieve the desired result.

Well everyone has their own oppinion. I feel while Ridley and Giger created the Xeno, it was put more on the map after Aliens. If there was only Alien and then since 1979 there was never a single sequel, while it may become a cult movie would the Xeno had become that iconic monster that is is? As far as that scene goes its looks tampered with, i am sure the original showed Fifield and he was not on fire, like the difference in colour of the thing David is pulling out of the Urn from Trailer to Trailer. The mutant in this scene now, looks like it has longer arms and one thing that sticks out is the head looks a lot like that thing that the crew are looking at on the floor. Does that mean that the mutation changes humans into Jockeys? But then how come Blue Guy looks Human... This movie really is a puzzling one and some can say we should stop speculating about the movie. Well thats what we do, its in our nature to ponder and ask whats going on, some dont think like that and take a one aspect aproach, people who take books like the Bible as Gospel and nothing else matters. This movie is interesting and the trailers have so many posibilities, and what actually happens maybe be far from what anyone one here has guessed.
