its becoming more and more evident that the space jockey is a result of something else thats mutated. i dont think they have an examining encounter if thats what you mean. no meet and great, or sit down.

Well we do seem to see what could be the Blue Guy/Engineer come across a few of the crew and in those scenes the crew look terrorfied.
I still go with the Ancient Astronaught/Civilisation connection, we see cave map with tall guy showing smaller guys the Star System. Some of the tablets shown are Egyptian and Sumarian whos Gods created us in their image and they was depicted as human just much taller.... which is what Titans are also depicted as.
As such this is what the Blueguy looks like, and the Statue also looks like the Blueguy.
I think that the Blue Guy is the Jockey, but then maybe he is one of only a few left or the last one.
And indeed he needs us for some purpose and maybe indeed uses some of the crew to create new Engineers?

I hope there is such a scene.
I hope it is underscored by a full Warner Brothers-cartoon Orchestra and that it includes them chasing each other around that, "map", room with frying pans in their hands - the Action highlighted by, "DOINNG!" Sound Effects.

One scene in the trailer shows David in the map room- and at least one SJ is approaching him. The others are too blurry to confirm, but at least ONE makes contact with David.
The "hand" scene where a couple crew members appear to soil their pants is not wide enough to tell. Just a big hand in the corner that MAY be an SJ. The skin color on the hand is close, but it could be Santa Clause for all we know at this point.

I assume they'll come face to face with the SJ. my hope is that the SJ won't be rendered in horrible CGI

I would like to think the Prometheus crew has an actual CONTACT and MEETING with the SJs......Then perhaps the SJs would enlighten the crew with information they came searching the heavens for...such as the creation of life on Earth and perhaps elsewhere.....I would like to then think the crew becomes awestruck....only to let greed overtake a few of them..where they steal some of the technology....Hopefully it would be at this point the SJs get ticked off at the crew and all HELL breaks loose.......I would also like to think that the SJs could be incredible with all their intelligence but at the same time you would think "I wouldn't wanna EVER MEET or TICK off these guys".....

Yeah I think Prometheus has the potential to be the next EPIC adventure......But it seems as of late Hollywood has been wasting many opportunities to achieve greatness.....

Don't get your hopes up... and maybe be pleasantly surprised!
Well I guess 'unpleasantly' makes more sense here.

I think there has to be a meeting between the spacejockeys and the crew in the scene with ford and the big hand or atleast i hope so...
April 16, 2012
Nahhhh. Im not expecting what we would call "Sentient" beings. I'm expecting domination and bio-terror from the get go. If the SJs want to be nice, they have a weird way of showing it.
April 16, 2012
If there is no "meet and greet" with actual (ET) SJ's, I will be truly disappointed in the story. I don't like the idea that they are a result of Human and ET splicing so-to-speak.

I agree with colonelangus!
CGI f***d up all the creepy feeling in Alien4 and parts of 3... Actually the 4th movie is not a part of the Alien Trilogy :)
But anyway back to the point: let's hope that the SJ is made using more old school techniques and not computer animation.
After all, both of the first alien movies proved that if the Director has Cojones he can be more realistic without any animation.
And let's also thank Giger for his amazing drawings.
