MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:02 AMFascinating and chilling in equal parts.
After all the stills in the viral campaign, this is more like it.
A small indication of the performance we can expect in the final film and hints at just how pivotal David will be to the plot.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:07 AMExcellent..
I think this is going to be 119 minutes where you are glued to the screen and what is being said.
First REAL sci-fi story in YEARS!!!

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:07 AM@alteredstate. - Ridley's sons directed some of the other viral videos?

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:26 AMDavid seems so happy and cheery (well except his demonstration of crying )but there's two skulls in the background. Kind of a strange background image. I also really like the "look" of him. That is what an advanced robot that is supposed to fit in with humans would look like IMO. Awesome.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:43 AMAwesome! I'll order one for cleaning that darn cat litter box - a job I find unethical for a human. (30 yrs. whishing for a David 8 every morning).

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:48 AMI had that notion for blade runner's rachel Aquila except the things i had in mind for her were a little more spicey shall we say lol.
I figured she was a vast improvement on the inflatable doll if you catch my drift lol.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:52 AMI would order one David just that I could follow and observe him all the time. Also he could be a good florist.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 8:54 AMI love how these corporate robots in Ridley's imagination are the antithesis of the Asimov style / Star Trek Data style lovable robot... these robots are products, without any kind of high minded notions of bettering mankind... they are there / created to do our dirty work... very dark - but given the current corporate climate - very believable. This video really seals the deal for me - this is gonna be a great movie.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:05 AMvery reminicent (spelling) of both 2010 and I robot

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:21 AMHe's so much like Peter O'Toole as Lawrence of Arabia. Not just his hair, but the way he speaks. A movie about David alone would be fascinating to watch in itself.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:23 AM"distressing, or unethical." Nice forboding
If the rest of the cast is in the league of Fassbender's level of acting for this, it will be a masterpiece.
He looks like the love child of David Bowie and Tilda Swinton.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 9:42 AMWith that hair, acting, and so on i keep thinking of Lawrence of Arabia.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:09 AMYEs of course its not only regarding the aspect ....they symbolized a sort of middle europe coldness ..very german , rappresenting a nation that was reborn without having anymore a background ( a bit like david ) . Formal suits , cold architecture , efficient work , people on the society frames merging togheter , new electronic sounds ( a bit from the early ultravox too )
The Kraftwerk were the Robots for excellence , the perfect business employee , but everything with a very deep romantic undertone ( "the model" song and video ) ...

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:14 AMWow....
"What makes you sad, David?"
My hype meter just blew a gasket

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:15 AMvery well said, thanks for getting back..."coolio"...Love that band and Know exactly what you mean about that/their image, or the one they were reflecting from German society, it was in a way iconic, still is I guess.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:16 AMin 1983 i went to dusseldorf to see my then girlfriend and she took me to a cafe owned by a member of kraftwerk i was so into them in those days computer world was a great album with german guys body popping in the streets in dusseldorf and outside on the pavements of cologne cathedral happy days.

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:43 AMThis is proof that Fassbender isn't just the "next hot thing". Ugh he's amazing. And I STILL haven't seen Shame. Shame on me. I hear it's very,...revealing...you know, of human nature and all that jazz.
@ Biomechanic-you hit the nail on the head with Lawrence of Arabia!

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 10:51 AMi saw it last night and its a stunning performance by him and Carey Mulligan, really on the edge and brave .Kind of reminded me of william defoe in anti christ, has that feel .

I just saw shame the other day really enjoyed it! U have MarcoBot's recommendation lol
Really impressed with Michael Fassbender he seems to be nailing his roles in just about everything he performs. Also he's gonna lead in Ridley Scott's next film the Councilor.
RS has a great track record for casting in his films!

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 11:10 AMSh!t ... that's cool as ... dunno what to think of his protocols though ... my instinct would be to not trust him one 'Bit' (get it?) ... :) ...
But he's a good actor no doubt about that ...

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 11:18 AMSo awesome!!! IMHO for me is the BEST! character in the movie and I really enjoyed his performances : )

MemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 11:26 AMYou thought Ash was bad?

It's a very important thing for my character, David, because he's engineered by humans and for him he's like, "Well, somebody engineered you too so you're programmed too." and they're like, "We're not programmed. We've got free will." He's like, "Oh, really?"

FREEZE!
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphApr-17-2012 12:07 PMI must say, I am so excited by this new clip! I got an eerie feeling about David, as I'm sure we all do!
Fassbender has set us up with a total untrustworthy character here, I mean David is totally on the fine line of sanity and insanity, very mental!
Also, the clip leans heavily towards there being multiple David's on board as well? The chess scene?
