LOVE IT! This definitely buoys my confidence that this picture is going to be incredible.
PS: Fassbender is a damn acting genius.

Super duper! i loved it, and i saw shame yesterday wow! Brilliant ! he's the best actor in the last 20 years or so in my humble opinion. And his Portrayal of Bobby Sands in hunger was breathtaking.

no attempt to disguise his robotic nature. thats the first time we've seen that. i guess technically bishop was very clearly an android from start to finish. ash was very much an infiltration type.
David does mention he can "blend in" to a work force. if his personality is similar to what it is in the video, i dont see how he could go anywhere without being identified (especially if they all look identical).
im still on board with those who say there will be more than one android, maybe the first one that doesnt look like David 8, or can be identified as easily as he can.
anyone know how much time passes between the development of David 8 and the Prometheus project?

@Chumbrother - Im pretty sure Ash does the same thing. Or something very similar anyway.

ahahahahah SO GREAT !!!!
you know how much i hate the Weylands and corporations plot and subplots but now i want a movie of 3 hours just with Pearce ( Weyland ) and Fassbender ( David 8 ) interacting togheter

Was that viral also directed by ridleys son Jake, or Luke, i wonder because if that's the case we have our next director for the sequel.

A great piece of acting I agree.
One of the principle challenges for any actor (yes, I am one) is represent a character's emotions as if they are your own. To engage the trust of the audience and have them suspend their disbelief long enough for them to think the emotions they see are real.
In other words, it looks as natural as possible. David doesn't have natural emotions. They are, we assume, pre-programmed responses to his environment. Fassbender has the double challenge of not only making them appear "mechanical" or non human to us, but have us believe they are real for the robot.
Tricky.

Fascinating and chilling in equal parts.
After all the stills in the viral campaign, this is more like it.
A small indication of the performance we can expect in the final film and hints at just how pivotal David will be to the plot.

Excellent..
I think this is going to be 119 minutes where you are glued to the screen and what is being said.
First REAL sci-fi story in YEARS!!!

@alteredstate. - Ridley's sons directed some of the other viral videos?
I didnt know that.

David seems so happy and cheery (well except his demonstration of crying )but there's two skulls in the background. Kind of a strange background image. I also really like the "look" of him. That is what an advanced robot that is supposed to fit in with humans would look like IMO. Awesome.

Awesome! I'll order one for cleaning that darn cat litter box - a job I find unethical for a human. (30 yrs. whishing for a David 8 every morning).

I had that notion for blade runner's rachel Aquila except the things i had in mind for her were a little more spicey shall we say lol.
I figured she was a vast improvement on the inflatable doll if you catch my drift lol.

I would order one David just that I could follow and observe him all the time. Also he could be a good florist.

I love how these corporate robots in Ridley's imagination are the antithesis of the Asimov style / Star Trek Data style lovable robot... these robots are products, without any kind of high minded notions of bettering mankind... they are there / created to do our dirty work... very dark - but given the current corporate climate - very believable. This video really seals the deal for me - this is gonna be a great movie.
