MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 11:58 AMI know that my girlfriend tried to get into this movie since she knew how big of an ALIEN and ALIENS fan i was....... She started reading about some pf the more "disturbing" aspects of the film and told me that there was jsut no way.
Guess my real question is would you anyone along(bf,gf, or friend) if they werent really in on what the movie was?

It's Prom, not Bella. Mmmm, maybe you're not too young or immature, just a douche. But look, I'm picking on you because I like picking on you for what it's worth. I don't take this site or anybody's comments on here too seriously. Hell, there's nothing else going on right now on here. I'm fairly diplomatic, but sometimes I like to stir the shit a little. Seems like I did it this time!
Plus, there's no way in hell I'm posting a pic on here. I have a job and I don't want my photo on here. Let's just say you wouldn't kick me out of bed for eating crackers :)

Art DirectorMemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 7:13 PMBoth me and my wife needed to watch Alien before our first child was born, that and Poltergeist II (I think its the Giger designed internal growth thing).
I mean its such a given now the whole fear was lost and diluted after a few years past 79' as there was a mass glut of (not so) scary space films!

MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 7:08 PMNo, I teach at a college and I may have students and colleagues floating around on here. Doubtful, but you never know. If I had a picture in which they wouldn't recognize me, it wouldn't bother me. But I'm young and don't have tenure yet, so I have to be careful. I don't want my students or boss to see me on here and get a bad impression of me, if that makes sense.

MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 7:26 PMI will probably start my Prometheus movie night out with going to the bar, maybe a few shots and a beer.
I'll probably snack on something fried or smothered in cheese.... then get my ass to the line with my laptop in hand.
Why bring your other half if they are not interested or crazed as you about a movie? Wouldn't that just ruin your good time?
That is why I will be leaving my husband home.

I never said you couldn't have your own opinion. I just think your opinion is idiotic.
You needn't change it to please me.

MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 7:33 PMWhoa, Progeny! Brilliant! Now that's what I'm talkin about. My bf will watch it because I want him there, but he may be miserable. I'm hoping the movie will be so good that he'll thank me for dragging his ass to the theater to see it. If not, my viewing experience may not be too pleasant with him sighing, shifting in his seat, and checking his phone. We'll see....

Miss? Are you getting everyone who doesn't agree with you confused now?

MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 8:41 PMOf course. As a matter of fact I plan to do this to a female friend of mine. I'll slip something in her drink the night before, then get her tied up nice and tight. Maybe use a straight jacket. And while we are in the theatre (ooh, have to remember the ball gag to keep her from ruining my fun) I plan to clamp her eyelids open like in A Clockwork Orange. Of course I will be sitting there administering eyedrops to keep her little glazzies moist because I am not a monster or anything.
OK, she's not really a friend, but I see her every day while I follow her to and from where she works. So we're practically related.

"A whole lotta woman......"
I like that. Hey BDonna, I did'nt mean any insult by using the word "girl." I just meant it in a friendly sense. I remember a time when many women actually liked being called girls. Perhaps, if my original comments hadn't snow-balled into the previous tit for tat discussion...you would understand that didn't mean any harm. I hope you don't see me as a mysoginist, because I'm not. Many of my closest friends are women...who, believe it or not, actually like to be called "girls." But of course, they know me well. I guess I'm just one those politically incorrect, old school guys, who loves a pretty face. Sorry if I came off as a jerk.
Peace,
N

MemberOvomorphApr-21-2012 9:33 PMno problem. well in german most women (especially older) i noticed prefer to be called a girl/miss, calling some of them mrs. when they arent a mrs. is like calling them an old lady.
i had worked customer service for too many years and had a lot of older men call me annoying condecending names like "sweety" "honey" and they did refer to me as a "girl" a lot with it.
its just erked me ever since, so its mostly my own issue i wouldnt speak for other females my age.
i look 10 years younger then i really am (and short) so i actually do get mistaken for a kid STILL, lol.
no harm done.

PS. I think I speak for a lot of the members here when I say she's also a sic-fi babe!
