Much more intriguing to me from the design point of view is that the reactors also works as the point of contact and structural support with the land. Propellers are ever delicate things; using them to perform structural functions, not to say very demanding structural functions like landing, seems to me something completely off the top.

OK, and how about we re-label those bits on what is now being called the "Docking Port". It really has no hull clearance and its almost completely blocked from a full straight on view.. Other than the two "ports" facing forward. How about we call the smaller lower port the "RAILGUN BARREL PORT", and the bigger one above it the "BALLISTIC MISSILE LAUNCH TUBE", and the dish above them both the "TARGETING ARRAY". ; ) Also... Would that oval shaped pod with the yellow coloring (slightly behind the glass bridge) be another LIFEBOAT ?

@abordoli @Cypher: Look again at the trailer where the captain is piloting the ship. That bottom glass area seems to be the bridge that the captain was on with that recognizable window that he was in front of, no? Maybe the top area is the "sky bridge" like on a boat. You don't actually see Janek in that scene, in fact I'm sure you only hear him over some sort of radio communicator I think. It just doesn't make sense to have the main cockpit on the bottom and an observation deck on top. And remember the bit where the plates are sliding back on the ship to reveal the planet. Looks like it's the main cockpit on top to me. Good job anyways :-D
