Agreed its not garunteed there are no real garuntees to whats going on untill we see the movie only certain things are for sure.
Is Weyland on board..... i was not sure, i thought it could be Holloway?
The only way what i thought would not work, is as you said the scene where the crew come back from the temple and Vickers has the Flame Thrower is a different scene to when Fifield goes on a rampage.
This would mean that the melted face guy (who i think is Fifield) is simply let on the ship and nothing happens, and Holloway is also let on after he holds his hands up.
But then i am sure i saw a scene where we see fighting on the Cargo Bay area while the Camera is looking outside the ship and crew men are running on to shoot at someone.
Also why would Holloway look to have to really persaude Vickers to let him come aboard if, Fifield/Melted Face guy is allowed on?

@ gameoverman. I agree with you on the point about the quaranteen point you made, i thought of the same thing after watching the new trailer/making of feature, and thought that was a good nod to Ripley in Alien
I also think that there is a possibility that the exploding head is in-fact Fifields, and that we have been thrown a curve ball in some way in the form of Vickers, the reason Im thinking this is because he is military, so expendable and the features of the head and the character resemble each other quite a bit i think, but who knows.

@BigDave...you mentioned that they may have gone back to the temple/ship more than once. ive always assumed that they take maybe a few trips over the course of a few days (although considering the distance and what it appears goes into preparing, maybe 2 max is more likely, with a 3rd being a return in the climax, not for research, but as part of the fight).
but, as you eluded to, it seems very unlikely that they would go back after crew members get infected, so i do like your theory that maybe holloway gets infected in a more subtle, slower progressing manner, and the others experience a far more aggressive mutation.
the first exploration would have to have appeared to be successful and harmless if there was to be a second, judging by Vickers overly cautious approach, and we've determined that holloway appears willing to do anything for the sake of discovery, and if he got a worm in his eye, he may not say anything if he thinks it will stall the expedition.

I dont think the probes would pick up a hologram as a lifeform. The snakes and roof movement are likely what the pings are picking up.
I was under the impression that everyone wore the same suits. Fifield is shown in the new trailer wearing the same as everyone else but the above screen shot shows a different suit burned with a tear in the right rear shoulder. The neck peice is larger than the blue suits and the material looks tougher or aged.
Perhaps the other ship flying around is from a larger ship orbiting the planet with crew members with different suits. Where the hell did that smaller ship come from unless it comes off the prometheus.
I am going with the ships log/black box scenario!

@BioShock...thats the escape pod.
and i've thought for some time that the black goop that mutates the crew members may incorporate their suites into the mutation. i think it feeds off of mecanical objects to fuse with organic objects, and thats why the guys we get are blue...the suits that are involved with the transformation are blue.
