This is for the people who participated in the "Idea on what happens to David" thread from a couple days ago. Don't read if you don't have a clue. . . . . . . . . I have a theory and it's a bit of a stretch, but I'm going to throw it out there. Some of you may have seen it on some other forums I've posted it on, but I'm looking for more opinions. So April 28th rolls around and the website thepropstop post a Prometheus callsheet that has a huge spoiler stating that David becomes decapitated. The text from the callsheet is as follows. [b]INT. JUGGERNAUT - BRIDGE WITH PILOT'S CHAIR David's head come back to life. He watches as the Engineer plots a star course. The Engineer puts on his flight suit and gets into the pilot chair. INT. JUGGERNAUT - BRIDGE NAVIGATION AND HIBERNATION ROOM David's head bounces[/b] Two days later we get three new TV spots. TV spot #9 just happens to have a brief scene that appears to corroborates the callsheet perfectly. Looking at a 1080P still image, we can see a body laying prone behind the chair and a detached head next to it. Folks.. I think we are being duped.. 1) The callsheet is still online for viewing at the original site. In the past FOX has been all over websites for anything not released through official channels. Take it down or talk to our lawyers. Why not in this case? 2) The image of david can not be seen when watching the video in real time. Anyone seeing that TV spot live would NEVER be able to pick it out. I firmly believe that FOX tossed in a fake easter egg to put one over on the people (us/fans/sites) that go through these clips frame-by-frame. It also makes me wonder if they have done this for anything else? That being said.. I will actually be more surprised if the Engineer knocks Davids head off than if he doesn't :)

Some people beleive everything they see...for some, the easy answer is the only answer. Fox is playing everyone. EDIT- But I should add, they are also giving us clues as well...some clevely scattered...some right in our face. The average moviegoer doesnt care like we do. Fox knows this too. This PR is for us...

Could be real, could be photoshopped to mislead us, could be Vickers (she is blonde too). Who knows. I have said many times I think Ridley or Fox is misleading us, but I keep getting told studios are not that smart, either way I'll be seeing the movie in theatres at least twice XD

First-- I have a hard time believing the call sheet would be correct about the decapitation, but wrong about the person. If FOX is going to try and put one over on us, then why get something wrong and cause people to question the authenticity of the callsheet. Much more convincing if they match. Second-- We see Vickers running for her life after the Juggernaut crashes. The Engineer has to raise the chair, put on his suit, and fly the ship before it can crash.

@Jeffomorph; We do not know exactly what the movie will be like, there could be 2 ships and the decapitation (if it is that) could have happened at anytime, no one knows for sure what the movie will be like. Either way it's not gonna ruin my enjoyment of the movie itself. I love Ridley and 99% of the actors he hired for this film. I love his sets, the designs, everything. One potential spoiler isn't enough to turn me off. :)

Jeffomorph, Totally agree.. I think it's really funny in every movie, except for Alien Resurection, we have a decapitated android.. lol. Do you think the Space Jockeys fight with swords?

@Svanya I agree with you in that we don't know what the movie is going to be like. I won't be angry and think the movie is ruined if this happens to be true. It wasn't written out of some denial and need to find justification to see the movie :) It also wasn't written as a way to talk people off the ledge and keep them from jumping. It was written as an observation on a sequence of events I find highly fishy.. Especially considering FOX's track record in the past to force websites into taking down even the most mundain materials and photos not obtained through proper channels.

1. Planted call sheets? 2. (Can-You-Spot-the-Difference) multiple versions of seemingly identical trailers? 3. A simulated hack of the facebook page? 4. All that other PR stuff like the TED and David 8 vids... This is quite obviously PR stuff just for US with the hopes of throwing us off the scent (for our own good, no less) so that WHAT we WILL see will be quite different from WHAT we THINK we are going to see. Quite fascinating of the PR team to be going through this sort of effort for essentially what are probably only 100-200 "die-hard"* fans (admit it, we're not as big of a group as we'd think or the size that certain sites' memberships appear.....it's basically the same guys talking with each other.....If the 5,000+ registered fans on this site actually contributed to discussions, this place would be pure chaos.....at the present time....it is not.....that's because 5,000+ "die-hard"* fans do not exist for this movie). * - By "die-hard" fan, I'm referring to those that are dissecting trailers and on this, and "sister", Prometheus sites almost daily (if not hourly).

@Aberdoli - all good points and probably close to the truth, but for one thing - I think you're majorly underestimating the number of die-hard fans out there in just the United States alone...:) Tons and tons of people lurk on messageboards/websites like this one and never make their presence known... I myself am on here almost daily but I rarely post anything. But even that aside, there's very likely many fans out there who discuss these things and pick them apart in other forums/venues/what-have-you. I was rabidly following the progress of the movie for months before I even decided to visit this site... and I'm not even registered at the other two or three sites devoted to the film.

In Alien we had Evil Android, In AlienS we had Good Android, In Alien Resurrection we had Insecure/ Self Loathing Android. I suggest that, though it is very unlikely, Prometheus could feature man impersonating an Android. Read: DAVID 8 just a man pretending to be a robot for a greater reason. It seems the only twist left......if you really consider it. Could satisfy all this potential misdirection and spoiler stuff and ....they were quick to 'establish' DAVID being a synthetic early on, way back. All this decapitated this decapitated that, if it is generated by the studios and fake shots in trailers, for what purpose? I generally dont believe in CONSPIRACY THEORIES, but I can play along with y'all...... In all liklihood I am wrong, but I just wanted to put it on paper in case it is true, for validation's sake. N8

There are no good androids. Bishop made sure there was an egg on the ship at the end of ALIENS. Call was an autod, not an android. Except for shoplifting she was good.

@chthon, ROFL. Re: the thread, I don't see why RS/Fox wouldn't do something like this to us. If I were them, I would--it'd be hilarious payback for the degree to which some people are going to scrutinize this stuff frame-by-frame. It wouldn't be too hard for someone to doctor a few frames before the TV spot went out. And why not mess with a captive audience who is going to see your film regardless of whether the trailers show fake info? If anything, I'm more enticed by the shenanigans.
