Is anyone considering not being the first in line to see Prometheus?

I'm old enough to remember the responses to "Alien"...people (allegedly) leaving the cinema only to vomit in the bathrooms due to certain scenes ...
Is anyone honest enough to admit that the "Milburn/Fifield" audio has them somewhat apprehensive? While not necessarily gory, it sounds disturbing...
Are there any of a sensitive* nature among us?

Bella, I too will not partake in spirits or the nectar of the Gods. I transpired into an alcoholic haze during two major opening day cinematic events. First, The Lord Of The Rings and second, Star Wars The Phantom Menace. Actually let me rescind The Phantom Menace. One extraordinary cinematic event.

@ sundar,
drinkin the fire water ruined quite a bit of theater experiences for me.
the only time booze was a good idea was during bad movies, but REALLY bad movies i knew were terrible that landed at the dollar theater before netflix and redbox was invented.

Bella, the dollar theater where I reside serves alcohol. As if they know horrible movies require beer goggles to watch. I too my friend have exhausted precious screen time enveloped in the web of excessive debauchery related to intoxicants.

i still find it odd that i have been to so many places yet some "bible belt" state in the USA could offer something that doesnt suck, still perplexes me.

@Bella..your theater sounds like a dream---where is that "expensive" theater, if you don't mind answering??

I can and will definitely wait a few days to see Prometheus. I'm really not big on watching films with large crowds. Seems like too many people have forgotten how to act in theaters today, between cell phones, talking, coughing & sneezing etc. Ugh...
I'm lucky enough have access to a small college town theater up here in Northern New York. They'll will get a "big" film like this after it's been out for a week or so. I guess it's cheaper. Anyway, the films there are often sparsely attended from late May to late August, especially if you plan your showing correctly, so watching a film can be like sitting in your own living room. It's great, the owners are nice, and I feel good supporting a small, independent theater.

I'm dragging the wife to the 1201 (AMC IMAX Kips Bay NYC) - no fookin chance I'm waiting any longer, wouldn't be able to sleep anyway - friends cant be convinced to do the midnite show.
Wife hates scares, blood and horror but loves great films..I've said it's going to be like the Fifth Element (works in fashion and she liked the costumes). Way I look at it she will thank me after...

@lilmatt
Read your thread title and responded to that....as for what else you said...
In 79, I didn't see any puke reactions the first time I saw it in Hollywood but that was an industry crowd, but not even they were prepared for the visual and sonic blast that hit the audience.
When I saw it again a few weeks later I witnessed a scene in the theater where someone left and wanted their money back ....they were really pissed off...other people also got up and left.
Nothing in this movie will move me out of my seat.
Difficult to explain the power of Alien in its day...if you were not there you'll never know...it was a paradigm shift in the experience of viewing a film in a theater

Forever war.....I would add the exorcist and Texas chain massacre as the paradigm shifts of their time, unconventional...groundbreaking. Add the suspense of Jaws, a movie who's whole success and feel can be attributed to a broken mechanical shark, and the explosion that Star Wars created in sci if interest and I think Ridley had all the elements in place to create a true original

I'm sincerely hoping for scary but NOT nauseating. Or worse, someone throwing up on me!
If the script is cerebral, sickening isn't necessary.

No way am I waiting to see this movie. I'm way too excited. Midnight IMAX showing for me!

I am definitely planning on being there for the midnight show. My girlfriend and I will be sporting our upcoming website T-shirts (which I hope many of you win!) While we wait in line. Gonna have pizza and snacks and I'll be on our Twitter postingall the excitement! Haha
But there is no way I'm waiting to see Prometheus. I'll brave the crowds. Hell, the more people there - the more who see our T-shirts and the more who come here to discuss!
Should be a great thrill ride. Can't wait!
