Looks cool, but I would call fan art.
I am not an expert, but the proportions of the "flaps" seem to be incorrect.

Anyway, I like it, and I wonder how long it will be before they make a plush toy out of it.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

i dont think it make that difference if its fan art or not since is not a speculation but a reproduction of something we already saw .

Funny, I can see the xeno features already coming through in this design...the head and the open arms like wings ala...Hello Dallas, wanna see my cocoon?

Dont forget Ridley used props so that the cast had something to interact with.
Instead of him saying "right over there at this point there will be a Cobra Organism" and the crew has to use imagination, Ridley has used sculptures etc so that it helps the Cast.
Also even if its a working prop, they would overlay it with CGI, which looks like a very good job compared to some of the shabby efforts from the The Thing Prequel.
The sculpture does look like a cross between a male and female sex toy i may add.... not that i seen any lol.

Very nice work! The artist should take credit.
Has anyone noticed that this organism acts like any earthly ambush predator? Folded, it looks "plant-like" docile to lure victims closer than attacks.
Also, is this the "cobra" exploding out of the head or whatever it is?

I would assume so yes.
It apears to be a simular Organism and maybe the one we see that tried to get to Shaw whilst she is hidding behind a Door on Prometheus.

It resembles the female, human sex organ, with the outline of the traditional facehugger.

what's really crazy about this thing is just how unafraid it is, especially given it's size...it just meandars on up and "here I am"...attack!
I guess it's like a honey-badger in that regard it knows no fear or perhaps b/c it's never seen humans before it doesn't know us to be a potential source of danger...so it doesn't know enough to be afraid for it's safety...or it's just so badass that nothing can hurt it...
this thing aside from it's obvious homages to the male and female sex organs reminds me of a giant sperm chasing an egg to fertalize the way it swims up and does what it does wit what seems like dogged determination.
really kinda creepy..what I want to know is HOW it enters the human host body...

Seriously, given the obvious likeness to human anatomy, am I the only one who thinks it also looks like a Sphynx (hairless) cat?
The ears are obvious. Then there's the diamond in the middle for the mouth, which is kind of pursed open. The curvy skin extending from the left and right points of the diamond resembles a cat's signature smile. Go up from the diamond, and instead of the Y-shaped folds of skin around the nose, it's more of a T-shape.
