This may have already been considered but it clearly looks as though the 'Juggernaught' is preparing to lift off and depart one planetoid with the Prometheus in hot pursuitt to then be rammed from 'behind' (sounds wrong, I know!) but that only happens when 'they' 'Juggernaughts' crew) are pursued out of one atmosphere and into the other being LV-426 and it is within that planetoids atmosphere that we see thecollision occur. Tghe result to which we see the #'Juggernaught' 'fall from grace' literally as its occupants are doing so equally yet on a metaphoric level to then end up 'crash-landed' in the horizontal position upon LV-426? And yes apologies if it sounds kind of already been there sort of self explanatory but I havent concentraited upon every last thread that was ever raised about every issue/variable that may or may not yet occur within Prometheus so your imput and thoughts towards my initial thread idea would be welcome. Please feel free to respond. Thank you kindly.

@EGR101 Its not so clear to see how much damage has been caused to the Juggernaught, but then it would also suffer such damage from falling and hitting the ground... But as a Bio Mechanical craft maybe it could heal itself? But we dont know for sure, only when we see the movie will we know. @David 1 I dont remember Ridley saying anything about how 1000's years? He did say way before Prometheus that the Ship had been there for a long time. So i assume thats more than 30 years. He also said the Jockey was a man in a suit and the Derelict was maybe a Bomber or some kind. He did say after making Prometheus that maybe the Derelict and its Technology is Millions of years old. Now way has it been on LV426 for Millions, but it looks like longer than 30 years. I would say the Derelict on LV426 has been there for a long time before Prometheus sets down on LV223. The changes in how the Ship Looks and inside and the Jockey are all just Ridley doing a redesign on the crafts etc.... just how the Battle Star Galactica Mainship and Vipers look in the 78-80's TV Series compared to the newest ones. The biggest difference in my oppinion is the lack of any sarcophagus on the one in Alien as if its the same craft how does Ridley explain that? Unless he is going for some inconsistancies like how in the Thing Prequel they dont blow the Space Ship from out of the Ice to find it, where as in the orginal the tapes they find show the Norwegians doing just that. It will take too long on this thread as for why.... But my theory is yes the Derelict that lands on LV426 is not the one in Prometheus and its been there for hundreds of years maybe a 1000 or so. Oh yes this movie will GIVE a link to Alien, but that dont mean LINK DIRECT. By that the events on LV223 by the crew of Prometheus does not lead to Alien or create the Xeno etc.... We shall get a scene that shows those events but those events would have occured years before....

I'm thinking that The Company simply re-designates LV-223 to LV-426 so they don't get busted Screwing with stuff they shouldn't have in the first place.....................

According to Sir. Ridley the Derelict was there for probably thousands of years. So, IMHO, I don't think the one in Prometheus is the same as the one in Alien

But why would the Juggernaught go from LV-223 to LV-426?.. Wouldn't it just hit straight for Earth? Or am I missing something here?

Well if that is the case Cypher then are the three worlds around the gas giant ACTUALLY got names (bar LV-426, we know of already! Lets consider that one eliminated from this hypothetical for now alright) or do people keep getting LV-223 mixed up with LV-426 OR, one of the planetoids is DEFINATELY called LV-426, right....? So, isn't one of the secondary monns called LV-223 (perhaps the 'Temple Mount' complex location) and so what is the third? Because if you watch Alien there IS a third. I hope they will not act as if this one does not exist as it will fly in the face of what was established in Alien with regards to the Nostromos entering in orbital velocity around LV-426. We see two more and I would like those 'origins' definately explained!

They are different ships and different planets. The sizes are different. The configuration of the "Pilot's" chamber is different. They are different.

Shaws Sweet Baby what I a m proposing is that the 'Juggernaught' is attempting to leave what may turn out to be the planetoid designation LV-223 for the world with the 'Temple Mount' complex upon, it flies out of the atmosphere with the intention to get into space and head on out towards Earth for what ever re4ason, is somehow intercepted by I presume the Prometheus being rammed from behind (still sounds wrong doesn't it) and it is only then that it is made to perform the 'forced landing' manuver upon what I think will then turn out to be the secondary world/planetoid LV-426... You see....

I don't understand the obsession with LV-223 NEEDING to be LV-426, or the Juggernaut NEEDING to become the derelict. I find that to be the easy way out. I'm looking forward to something more creative. RS said you will be able to piece together the events leading to Alien. I don't have a need/desire to see these exact events played out on-screen. A nudge in the right direction is good enough for me, and more exciting IMO.

But I would dearly like/love the idea of the 'Derilict' langushing there upon that planetoid for hundreds of thousands of years! That gives the whole essence of the story a magnetude that dwafs what we thought we truely knew/know about 'them' by whatever else is revealed within the annals of the Prometheus univrse. If not Tens of thousand or hundreds of thousands then at least many many senturies which is as good as... it gives the lengths of time that 'Derilict' has been just 'siiting' there much, much, MUCH more compelling for epic size, scales of time and dramatic plot revelations...

I equally understand what you are saying to Syphonox, yes we dont have to necessarily see the events commited to film to not have the story thread knitted together... I do agree and would equally differ to your reasoning if that is the way the producers of Prometheus intend to go with it. It reminds me of the Lord of the Rings when they left out the Tom Bombodil sequence. A lot of fans complained but the rebuff came back in the form of Peter Jackson if I recall on the commentry of the special editions. He staed that just because you don't see that the scene has actually been committed to film doent negate the fact that that part in the story didnt actually happen we, as the viewer just don't 'see it ' but it 'probably' happens in the story line its just never given any screen time to explore that thread.

EGR 101, although we are seeing an explosion against the 'hull' of the 'Juggernaught' the Space Jockies ship could be simply impervious to our human attempts to breech it by a full force ramming manuver (still wrong!) The explosion we see is the Prometheus desimating itself... Again, maybe... But I am hoping I am pleasantly wrong footed... :-)

@EGR101...with all due respect my good fellow sci-fi film lover... I laughed because I thought you ended that argument perfectly !!! Just FYI, "Classy" can also be... asking someone first what they meant...no...?...
