Cobra as 'Star Wars' Homage

The facehugger/Cobra horror (perhaps better likened to a Boa Constrictor or Anaconda) appeared to be slithering through manky water in an offworld basement before latching onto the poor schmoo in his space-suit. I can't help thinking of Luke Skywalker in Stormtrooper garb wrestling with the 'Dianoga' in the mucky waters of a rubbish-compacting unit on the Death Star.
