Loving this forum - I check it several times daily. The film has really grabbed my attention and up til now I was dismissive of the idea that we'd been shown too much but now I'm beginning to wonder what big twists can be left?
Having said that I am sure RS wouldn't let too much of the cat out of the bag...
I think we have to remember that we've not seen the film yet so none of our theories are proven 'right' or 'wrong' - the film will probably have elements of lots of ideas we've mentioned but skewed differently mashed up with loads of things we haven't predicted.
Plus we have to remember that the material sent out is purely there to act as a commercial to sell tickets so it's designed to tease, not make sense!
Anyway my personal theories:
When Vickers says 'If you go down there you're going to die' its to a certain stowaway who's been in hyper sleep
The crew members mutate but not into Engineers - that would be lame
I originally thought David would mutate into a Xeno - but as we've been told, there are none in this film!
Not quite a theory but Holloway is already getting on my tits from what I've seen of him - I think he's going to be one of those characters you ultimately can't stand!

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2012 8:49 AMThe obvious answer would be Shaw/Holloway but I think that's too obvious, no?

MemberDeaconMay-15-2012 9:01 AMThe scene where Vickers says that Holloway and Shaw are near her.
I had high hopes for the movie thats now been dashed.....
I guess the advantage of that is that things can only get better.... if the movie proves to be a suprise.
My concerns had been that the Engineer in the last scene seems to only be 7ft odd which is how tall the Actor who plays him is.... yet the images of him in the Orrey Room with David and the Holograms and his size compared to chair if said chair is same size as the one in Alien, is 9ft...
Now did the production crew say the Engineers are 9ft?
So thats a inconsistancy, and the new images do seem to conclude with that suposed screening that someone saw..... which i hope is not right as i read that plot and it seemed ok untill after the Hanger Scene from their the plot was lame and does in no way show any link to Alien at all. only link is the Derelict and Space Jockey

MemberDeaconMay-15-2012 10:40 AMMaybe the soundtrack has helped to calm my nerves a little.... ok somehow the Engineer looks smaller than in other scenes....
But maybe my fears about the so called two people who saw the Advanced Screening have been calmed a little.
The Track 25: Birth has a sound simular to it to the Alien Pilot scene when Kane and Dallas find the Space Jockey body in the Chair.
That Track to me sounds more like from a potential scene in the Derelict than Shaws Baby Scene, which i think would be Track 17 Hello Mommy.
So maybe there would be a scene from the Derelict on LV 426.... or maybe i am just clutching at straws?

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2012 10:47 AM@ orangecat - Great post!

Also, here are my thoughts:
1.) The engineers: I totally agree. I don't think anybody is going to "mutate" into one of these, b/c like you said, that would be lame.
2.) No xenomorphs: I kind of, sort of agree. Though this will not be an 'alien' film in the traditional sense, David Lindelof recently stated that Prometheus would tie into the original Alien film in a way that would satisfy, as in "not to disappoint", all the eager fan boys.
3.) Totally agree - "Plus we have to remember that the material sent out is purely there to act as a commercial to sell tickets so it's designed to tease, not make sense!"
