Shaw and Engineer - what´s the sequence? (**spoilers**)

I was thinking the creature doused him with acid, maybe when he killed it. So you know this guy is like the Terminator if he can beat a giant squid and survive tremendous acid burning, and possibly an axe wound. So maybe: He does kill Shaw, someone or something intervenes, or he's not trying to kill her at all (trying to scare/knock some sense into her).

I want to add that, if the Engineer really defeats the giant skid in singular combat, hand to tentacle, Scott´s better having some very convincing solution to explain the survival of Shaw...

@centrosphere Weapons? The same way us weak humans dominated other, physically stronger species. Of course, she doesn't have a weapon in that gif, but who knows what happens in that scene.

She could possibly run to one of the escape pods quickly like Vickers. Get off the ship where Vickers is and then order to destroy the ship by Janek killing both the Space Jockey and Mr Tentacles. The matter of what happens when the juggernaut lands is still shrouded and I think wont be spoiled in any trailers or whatever. (I think at this point the apparent Alien-tie in might come into play by that point) Then again the chronology of these event could be wrong.

I think the ships probably on some kind fo self-destruct sequence or something, he pushes her up against the wall, she hits the door open button and cuddles comes out and saves the day - I also just noticed something else I hadn't seen before in the 3rd gif, look at the light fixture on the right side of the image just above the doorway - looks like more tentacles or something, maybe this thing is growing and taking over the whole ship?

Well...I think the only weapon that appears in the movie so far and could cause this kind of injuries would be a flamethrower, but we only see Shaw carring an axe. There are people speculating that when she cries "die!", she opens the door were she saw the blue tentacle and the squidy thing catches the Engineer. This is not possible because she cries "die" to an already burned Engineer _ so, he couldn´t appear later fighting the squid and without injuries. That´s why I think the sequence of events is the contrary: he fights the squid first, somehow gets burned, and go after Shaw. The most economic assumption is that he got burn due to the fight with the squid and, since this guy seems not to carry flamethrowers around, it´s likely we will see some acid spitting around...

I think that as you look at the hallway that these events take place in they are one and the same. We see the front of the Eng, with Shaw but we do not see the back, it mmay be he is burnt in the front but not in the back. With the Eng struggle against the creature we see the back of his head but not the front. I think they are one and the same, I think Shaw knows the creature is in that room, we have seen the trailer of her looking through a window and seeing the tentacle, She opens the door and the battle begins. I think this is taking place on the crashed lifeboat, The big question is one that was posed by Big Dave, does the creature imprgnate the ENG, with something and what would that lead too?

What the heck?! That is a MAJOR spoiler! Did they really show that on a commercial?

@Rickk ... I think those are actual electrical wires dangling (ripped out) as we see some of this in one of the trailers ...

Interesting. So the question is...is Mr. Engineer attacking Shaw at this point when he is then attacked by Mr. Squid, or is he trying to help a sister out? Also, I really think they've overdubbed Noomi's voice now in these latest spots, I think in the actual film we will hear her say "if we don't stop it", as we did in the second trailer.

I bet the Squid impregnates the jockey/engineer thing...

we dont even know if these are the same engineers. it has been said there are 3 space jockeys in the movie. the burned one could be holloways transformation. it was also revealed in trailers that the crew incenerates something on the loading dock. maybe SJs can heal quickly and he got up and his skin regenerates, so the scene above is actually before the scene with squiddy, when the SJ couldve had more time to heal completely

danrald - agree, i am thinking that the face of this wonderful creature is the face of a "face-hugger" and like similar to the original cobraxeno we have seen, the image above where he has got the engineer around the neck, is similar to the image where Milton has the cobraxeno around his neck before it goes down his throat. It’s just how they show love!! , they just want to be really close to you and your throat wondering if it came from what David opened on the ship or what came out of the exploding head, either way it is currently isolated mostly in that "room" i guess until now but like sea monkeys and chia pets they can grow fast and get a little out of control!! I think if people just saw these movies like "Marley and Me", it is just about misunderstood pets wanting to show affection, it is really a love story about a crew and their "pup" - i think RS said that somewhere
