Is it too obvious to assume Shaw will be the lone surviver of Prometheus?

I think Ridley Scott has a few tricks up his sleeve and I think we will be surprised when it comes out. I've seen a few interviews and I wonder if as a long shot Vickers may not be so bad after all. I know she is suppose to be the company woman enforcing her rules and trying to control the situation. Some people think she causes stuff to go haywire as the film progresses. I saw an interview where Theron described the character as "a suit who slowly sheds [her] skin through the film. Does that mean she sides more with the crew and helps them to survive?
Any which way I am super stoked for the movie to come out June 8th! I'm sure I will watch it more than once in theaters lol

It would be interesting if Vickers did "shed her skin" but I have a bad feeling about her, I don't know something about her seems wrong to me? I know weird. Anyways I would really like to see Shaw survive *crosses fingers* but it seems obvious.

Vickers, Shaw, and David will all be back. Mark my words.
They're going to Cylon™ David back into a synthetically fleshy new David 8.5 bod and he'll be fine and dandy.

Yeah I know in the trailers she looks very uptight and a little off. But it could just be her taking her job very seriously and not there to be anyone's friend just there to get the job done. Perhaps she see's how everyone including her is expendable and to the Weyland Corp. she is just another peon.

....i hope vickers survives....she's my fave.....but sadly i think ridley is planning a very dramatic kinda tear jerking end....Shaw will almost certainly survive...she's the main protagonist.....david is a bot so they can always bring him back....not really concerned about his character....

I think David may get a little overly " emotional " perhaps jealousy of being a droid. I dunno if anything David to me seems like he would go all loopy on the crew. Again though that seems a bit too obvious *shrugs*

I dont think there will be any survivors. Hence the reason for the original "Alien" nostromo crew being sent to find the alien...

I would love for Ridley to have the guts to kill off the entire crew and allow the SJ to survive, thus ensuring their secrets are kept safe from humanity but I doubt he will do it.

I have a deep, dark feeling that no one will survive. How many times have we seen this type of movie where the hero/heroine survives leaving the cinema audience whooping and punching the air?
I'm hoping, and I don't mean this in a nasty way, that we will be left shocked, mouth agape and thinking... Oh, shit!

Its too much too ask for the entire ensemble to perish. I am certainly in line with the Philosophy of Shaw and Vickers being the last survivors, though it only makes sense that morally Shaw would somehow destroy Vickers...or what she becomes, and thus be dangling from the metaphorical cliff at the end of the film...prob David sacrifices himself alla T2 to save Shaw...we'll see.

True but if Ridley is interested in continuing Prometheus's story line in a sequel perhaps they're may be a survivor.. to what degree they are still alive and breathing is unkown lol
Honestly, Shaw to me in the trailers looks like later in the film she is infected with whatever it is. She looks ill.

...i would rather have them all die than not have my favorite survive....lol...yeah i'm weird in that way!
May 22, 2012
Perhaps the only one to survive would be one of them mutated or a SJ...
Oh the possibilities!!!
Send the marines in for the sequel! haha

My 2 cents:
Shaw and Big Blue guy (Engineer) are the only survivors.
They marry each other shortly after the ending of Prometheus, Build a big temple with skull on top of it, and have a bunch of kids (xenomorphs).
Then when Daddy Engineer is taking the kids for the first time to school, he crashlands and dies, hence the derelict in Alien. Poor Shaw was left a widower, with no kids. Sad story.
Thank you for reading.

Given the fact that they are hoping to do a sequel, I would assume someone would remain from this picture to carry the story forward unless they go the route of breaking into a different story with the sequel which seems unlikely.

If there are no Engineers left alive at the end of this movie, you can be sure there are more of them causing mischief elsewhere.

@sukkal im sorry lol but i really think that. In the trailer shaw says that if we dont stop them we wont have a home to go back to. Also in the description in the movie, it is said that the crew becomes stranded. Prometheus probably crashed into the deritship ship and stopped it from dropping the xeno eggs on earth. When nobody came back from that trip...nostromo crew was sent to find the creature responsible for destroying the prometheus crew.

@ Ghorgul hahaha that is hilarious!
I feel like the one SP in this movie was left on the planet alone as punishment from his kind and then Prometheus landed giving him a chance to escape.
Another wierd thing is in the stills from the first trailer with the old guy whom i guess is Weyland arriving there. He must be in pursuit of immortality? Perhaps he splices his dna with SJ dna ...

My two cents:
We have seen in a trailer shaw wake up with Company men in suits around her, she bashes them as she tries to escape. I think this is the last 8 minutes of the film and the tie in to the alien universe that Scott has mentioned.
In a similar ending as Alien, she will hypersleep in the life boat as the last survivor, (I have read that if they make a sequel, that the time frame will run close to the time frame of Aliens) When they wake her up i think the tie in will be the time frame of the Suloco arriving at lv 426.
It could be a lot of things, but 8 minutes is an awful short period of time to wrap up a movie and make a connection with Alien. i think the connection will be subtle, not overt, like a xeno hiding in the corner.

I think Vickers metaphorically sheds her skin by the end of the movie and grows the most as a character. Much more than the actual growing and shedding of skin done by the other characters. My money's on Vickers surviving too. I think Shaw will surprisingly be left changed by the time the sequel comes around. Then we find out Vickers is still alive. And that Vickers will become the reluctant heroine of the sequel, because she's changed in a good way and has to continue cleaning up the mess.
