In one of Martin Cruz Smith's Arkady Renko novels (one, Gorky Park, was made into a film with William Hurt), the Russian detective witnesses a slime eel (hagfish) leaving the corpse of a drowned woman... The hammerpede thingy reminds me of that scene.

First time i see Jim's gif, to me it looks like an engineer, and a wormlike creature leaving via the mouth.

@ Shinobi - I suspect its actually Milburn - notice the helmet, blue attire and what looks like a burnt bonnet.

Not to mention glasses. Pretty sure it is indeed Milburn.

ok, but notice the head, the nose, the eyese, it looks like statue somewhere else someone mentioned how the head of blue guy grabbed by huge squid in gif looks marble. (i'd say not organic) There is also that old review of 13 minutes of footage that stated the big head moves and has something inside. I can't help but wonder about a conexion there.

watching it again intensly, if it's milburn, it has the same looks as the statue especially eyes and nose.

In Star Gate SG 1 there are eel creatures that operate as symbiants to the alien intelligence that are like Egyptian type people in the continual story line development of the series. I never watched it that often but I've read up on various things about it and it's premise.

@shinobi...no sir, thats not a statue, or an engineer. it is, from all the evidence we've seen so far, almost certainly Milburn. sounds like a couple people on this thread havent seen the gif of the cobralien going down milburns throat. that body (milburn or something older) looks that way because its dead. i suspect its just a random organism, science experiment, done by whomever made all those urns, and thats how it feeds. engineers and statues dont wear big glass space helmets.

I'm not saying it isn't Milburn. It just that the face looks like a statue now. really nose and eyes. not stone nessacarily, even rubber if you want, but the nose and eyes don't look organic at all, even for a dead one

What is interesting is the glass on the helmet is broken before the creature explodes out of the mouth. If that is Milburn we saw the creature choke down his throat with the helmet intact. We have also seen a GIF of the creature explode out of a mouth towards another crew member, could this be the second member?

That is milburn...you see the worm going down his throat and now you see it coming back out after feasting on his internals...his clearly dead as a doornail and i do not see how he or any of the crew looks like the statue head... I suppose it's ok to speculate...but c'mon...that statue head has a very exaggerated brow...it does not look human...perhaps it's modeled on the jockey head...which has perfectly geometrical features...humans don't have that...

It's not that it exactly look like the statue (as it doesn't look like Milbourn anymore anyway) It's how it changed, in a sculpted like face

@Mostly, the helmet glass having a hole is understandable, given the circumstances. After that sucker goes down Milburn's throat, all kinds of thrashing around probably takes place..probably by Milburn (terrible acid indigestion, to be sure) and others trying to save him. I expect this to be an excruciating scene.

The glass broken on the helmet sure looks like it was from something trying to get in or out to me. I can not see anything that tells me this is for sure milburn. Other than we know that he has been attacked by the creature, could it not be possible that some other crew member has been attacked as well?
