Very true Abordoli. Very true indeed1 I remeber hearing/reading up on that a while back too! Just think if they had gone the distance and we saw the eggs indeed opening up like a scattering of vagina-orifices!? That would be very challenging and I do hope Ridley Scott challenges our squeemish natures during this enterprise of Prometheus! However, I do think they should play upon womens fears of intrusion and internal non-desired impregnation as I think as I said in an earlier thread it is time for women to be made to feel extremely uncomfortable as men were made to feel when Alien originally came out. Women have been raped & violated enough in REAL LIFE, that I think we should stick to the men getting it as a courtesy to women across the world (and for millennia). I, personally, am uncomfortable seeing women violated....PERIOD (including film). This is just my humble opinion though.

Yeah agreed with Abordoli, the whole reason Alien worked was the fact that men are so unused to being violated in real life. They knew that showing a female getting violated would be a huge turnoff and would not work. P.S I'm female :P

Look Admin and members alike, don't get me wrong, I hear what you're saying. I'm simply getting to the root core of what made ALien work also. As well as it being role reversal and the fear onus being placed firmly at the mens door the way Alien worked was to get right to the core of what was taboo, and that was and still is issues of rape whether male or female, ( other examples that are not necessarily in the film but sereve as taboo topics for uncomfortable discussion within film - some any way for obvious reasons, i.e: incest, peadeophillia, same-sex issues/relations, transexuality, etc.) Theres probably more and of course and obviously I am not advocating rape or what-not I'm merely considering those themes and topics which make us cringe and turn our toes up at the horrid insidiousness of it works like a dream when committed to film and especially when it is incorperated in and amongst a potential high-end example like that of Prometheus.

After seeing Prometheus, I am sure many us here, men mainly will go home and feel uncomfortable and cower in the corner and just cry, yet we will go back see the movie like 3 or 4 times...I already warned my GF to hold me when I get home from the midnight premiere...

Remember, it's not just that men being 'raped' so to speak is about being violated - it's also a nasty inversion (or perversion, if you like) of the natural order of things (for humans, anyhow).
