does any one else think its kind of sick that (even though that critic sucks) people were actually wishing DEATH upon him??? I mean, for one he's already dead... and even if he wasn't, might that be overkill? (sorry for the pun)

I told you so, read the angry replies for some laughs! Especially the late Canby!
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Critic: 1. Someone who frequently finds fault and makes harsh and unfair judgements.
Of all the lowest forms of microbial life on planet Earth none is lowest than the common critic of the garden variety.

i'd guess the same "critics" that trashed ALIEN
all circle-jerked one another over "Aliens"
typical / predictable

I feel bad for those f&$*s, can't understand a masterpiece even if it slapped them in the face.

People who spend time listening to justin beiber, lady gaga and have subscription of fashion magazine should think thrice before criticizing sci-fi, horror and thriller genre.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hates Rottentomatoes. Those same bastards gave Aliens a perfect score.

Everyone, professional critics and otherwise, are entitled to their opinions
on any movie.Of course we are entitled to our opinions on their opinions.
BTW,is there anyplace where I can find original 1979 ALIEN reviews to read?
RSANDMay 27, 2012
When 2001 first premiered, critics hated it. It's now considered the greatest Sci Fi film of all time.
I don't really care what the critics say about Prometheus. I'll form my own opinion. I don't think any of you folks do either.
Let's all join in and say: F*** the critics!

RSANDMay 28, 2012
Of course wishing death upon someone is sick ebta1989.
That kind of insanity has no place here.

I still remember being about 16 or so at the time Alien came out and thinking how freaking fantastic it was ATM.
Some people just don't get it I guess, I avoid going to a lot of movies these days. Prometheus is one of the ones I've been looking forward too for awhile now : )

F%ck them , and i say that, to any one !!!!, ( unless female ) ,giving Alien a bad rap ..
But i do feel sorry for all those film critics that have ugly wifes ,, and need to take it out else were ..

Alien has a 96% on rotten tomatoes, picking three negative reviews out of countless positive ones and using it as evidence for the inability of critics in general to recognize a good film is pretty dishonest in my opinion.
wseatonMay 30, 2012
Roger Ebert has done nothing but compliment the film, and listed it in his greatest 100 of all time. This was back when Ebert was an actual critic and not '3 starring' everything like he does now.
I recall Siskel and Ebert having at least one special on their television show regarding nothing but the craft of the film, and both were arrogant enough to not care what anybody else thought.
As a film, Alien holds up well and doesn't seem dated at all, other than some special effects.

this just shows how the criticism on Prometheus from the french may indeed be top class BS my fine sirs!
Its a robot...ash is a goddamn robot!

Biehn_BanditMay 29, 2012
Alien is a masterpiece and every one knows it.
That last review is pretty dumb. Of course theses things don't surprise us anymore, because Alien already did them 30 years ago!
So I guess other horror movies don't have to soar beyond what they are, but Alien has to be something more than a horror movie to garner appreciation.
