Frightened or Nervous?

Hi All, We're all getting ready for the big release the Friday after next, so the jitters and angst feelings are definitely rising. However, regarding the legacy of Sir Ridley's 1979 ALIEN and the ideas about or beginning and the overwhelming interpretations of the SPACE JOCKEY/ENGINEER race of biomechanoids, it seems that there is a deliberate frightening and mysterious substance that is embedded within the DNA of the film. So my question is-is there anyone out there (other than myself) who feels slightly intimidated by the presence this film has and the grand ideas and horrifying implications? By the way, I'm still going to see the movie, it won't kill me. I'm as scared as I am attracted to this film. I love sci-fi. the aliens films are a little too scary for me, though I've seen them years ago, with a hand over my eyes. I'm more into sci-fi drama thriller more than horror sci-fi. this looks interesting. plus it's the next film using the avatar style animation, so it will be great to look at I'm sure. though I don't like charlize theron, her presence hurts the movie's cred to me, but I'm sure it will be cool.

I was in my twenties when Exorcist was re-released. I had read the book and seen the original before, but for some reason, I couldn't sit through it in the theater. Something about Pazuzu's the voice was getting under my skin, and I had to leave. Prior to that, as a child, the only things that *really* freaked me out were the Halloween theme song (I literally cowered in my bed) and the following character.... @Rubirosa...yup, we are all of the same era...remember seeing that movie on TV, and me and my brother thought every little "doll" that was in the house was gonna kill us, lol. In fact, my brother destroyed ALL our Atlanta Braves bobble heads---they would be worth, oh, about 10,000 USD now had we kept 'em...

The Skeleton key, I could not get that voo doo preachers song/sermon/incantation from that scratchy old 45 record out of my head for weeks. That voice was so documentary style real that I ate, drank, bathed, watched TV, worked with that nefarious voodoo sermon seeping into my thoughts. Then it stopped.
