MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 8:26 PMCan some one please link to a review from a fan that we definitely know saw the film?
Every one of these "reviews" I have seen is either very vague, "great effects" beautiful" Stunning" Picks up the easy way to throw a jab, "not enough character development" How many movies really do have a ton of multiple character development?
They all give a plot summary that any of us could give, and a lot of us have due to the time spent on this web site speculating the plot based on the clips. case in point the last post by "Blood" Now he may have seen it, but when i read his post I do not see anything new that we already do not know.
A lot of members have pointed out plenty of inconsistencies in the "reviews" posted. My general feeling is something is leaking out to the community but I just dont buy these people claiming to have seen the movie.

MemberOvomorphMay-30-2012 3:22 AMI just have to say. The movie just can't fail. I know it's a bit vague to say this, but just look at the trailers and you know it won't. It will be a huge classic!!!
I hate all those critics who believe their opinion is the most important one. Just because someone calls himself a critic or he is a journalist, his point of view doesn't count more.
All the negative stuff people are saying about the movie, makes me even more excited, cause these aspects could really make the film interesting.
I think many people were expecting some Hollywood shit, but Prometheus will be so different.
It seems like some reviewers didn't get the movie or didn't allow themselves to be taken on a special journey.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 11:47 PMno reason to expect a fan review since there has only been a press screening. you have a couple more days to go till you seee any fan reviews.
mwish I could be one of the first but im in the usa so 10 more days here.

I really have not found one review from a "fan" that i think is totally credible. I have gone to all the sites looked over this one with a fine tooth comb, and every "fan" review could honestly been written by a person who has not seen the movie. Nothing is really new in any of these reviews.
I am looking forward to the review you mentioned was coming shortly.

MemberOvomorphMay-29-2012 9:18 PMI will not see the movie until it comes in the states, two days later actually for my birthday and I am excited because I am also seeing friends I have not seen in a long time, now I have to say I think this will be a great movie, yes I am bias because this is RS. But to be honest I think the people are dead set on finding one little mistake, the movie is going to flop because of that. Because the problem is we live in an age where nothing can't stay secret, Alien was a great Masterpiece, it was a stunning movie, a horrific twisting tale, BUT it had one major advantage that today movies even if they are good (and I am still raising my high hopes it is good, but the people made their choice of that three months before): that is social media.
Social media is great but not for movies, and also we are now more connected, the world then has become smaller. There is nothing you do not know, and that was RS biggest mistake and FOX too. If they had just done something or released a similar movie before then it would not have been that great of a big deal, but they did it now where people demand the plot and movie before the movie.
Movies like Prometheus are so sensitive because prequel or not, have much to live up for. People have made forums, have already dreamed of the plot and they go see the movie, it is not what they wanted so their verdict? Movie = flop.
It is too bad and a true shame, but what more can you expect? You can't do a good sequel that will be as remembered and epic as before. For all his efforts Scott should have overseen this is a terrible age to make up movies like that, especially when fans say 'we want alien' then others say 'we do not want alien' it is no good.
I am still going to see it but I seem to grow more and more disappointed that it will not live up, too bad because it seemed like it would be good.
Anyhow, all your comments are great guys, I really enjoyed the forums, but I am going to take my chances since I really want to see it even if the rest think its bad, plus my friends are really hyped up so... :)

If ANYONE ever expected this movie to be as important of a piece of cinema that Alien became then they are a little naive. RS did not set out to do that again, he just came back to a genre which made him famous and wanted to make a great film.
