Primitive Creators

In many reviews people cite the silent aggression of the Engineer as evidence of lazy writing. I also held this belief until the recent clip between David and Holloway was released. In the clip, David asks Holloway why he was created and Holloway responds, "we made you because we could." What is interesting in this exchange is that David seems to be the more intelligent and calm life-form. From what I gather about the film, the Engineers are more aggressive and simple minded than the human crew of the Prometheus, and the crew of the Prometheus is more aggressive and simple minded than David. This brings to light the idea that just because a species has the technology to create something does not mean that the individual members of that species are necessarily more civil or intelligent than the creation itself.
I think this may be a response to all the films where aliens are depicted as noble, slender beings who are benevolent and kind or even almost angelic (Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Contact ,The Abyss etc...). This film could also be a commentary on the religions of the world that assume that a Creator God would always have our best intentions in mind and be loving and kind (The Old Testament God makes the Engineers look like kittens in some parts). Either way, it seems to be a very interesting concept. What do you guys think? Do you think this was intentional or am I making it out to be more than it is?
