SO I have slept on it....Upon waking I was filled with an awful feeling of loss. After over 2 years of buzzing people up about this game changing movie on our horizons I also feel a little embarrased that I put my faith in Ridley/Lindeloff and co. Too many areas of this movie are cut and pasted together. I'm all for it been "not Alien" different trip entirely etc - SO why the Xeno Teenager cheese fest? - That MAKES IT ALIEN. Why the derelict at the end, looking just like the one in ALien the way it lays; with a dormant cargo and a company distress signal. Bloody hell Downed juggernauts all over Zet2Riticuli! Probably easier for "The Company" to send a recon mission to LV223 as opposed to the random/coincidence - oh heres another derelict with a different cargo on LV 426. It all springs back to amateur hour storytelling. The lindeloff cheesy script - I don't know man - They got to drop this guy for the sequel big style. After seeing this I now realise J J ABrams is the main man of there writing team - because the Star Trek re-boot was killer! Lindeloff is Mr Tangled mess, maze man. Bad storytelling Bro, real bad. sheeesh! hate to be down on it man - I'm just really disappointed and upset -Probably need to pull myself together actually. Probably need to write my own story.......oh wait a minute - I AM!

*hugs* I am so sorry it let you down. I feel bad for those that are heartbroken, I know a LOT of you have been here over a year waiting and some even have been hoping for this movie to come out for over 30 years!

@The High Priest "Xeno Teenager cheese fest" <--------- Spot on discription! All we needed was a bit of American Pie style teen punk sound track for good measure. Why not though? The soundtrack for Prometheus was cheesy and shit, might as well have done..

Yeah man - should have kicked in with some teen punk power chords pop shit tune as the XENO Teenager comes out of the Jockey - At this point the film was "LOST" - nice double entendre there! I am seeing the funny side - All the hype and then that big "Shit Sandwich" Ridley needs to go into hiding now - big stylee! Keep his fucking hands away from Blade Runner - He is suffering from G L S (George Lucas Syndrome),

If the Blade Runner sequel is going to be anything like this, I'll pass...no doubt. I'm still in denial, I just can't believe they f*cked it up this bad... poor alien, poor Ridley... I even did a presentation at my school about prometheus, and now I feel like such an idiot. I've never been more disappointed with a movie...Never. And they have shown us EVERYTHING in the trailers...There was nothing left for us to explore. Definitely the biggest disappointment of 2012 in my opinion.

Oh and Frantz - If you care to look at my previous posts over the last year you will know I was gunning for Prometheus to be one of the best movies ever made. In fact I have egg on my face the fact that I have bigged it up sooo much for sooo long. At least I am man enough to put my hands up, not bury my head in the sand and admit it was a well below average film.....

spot on again priest been quietly building this movie up it should have been a home run but has the a confused feel of 2 scripts mixed in a blender then thrown at a wall whatever stuck stayed in im absolutely GUTTED

"I'm still in denial, I just can't believe they f*cked it up this bad" Still struggling to come to terms with how this turned out myself. So disappointed. I've been miserable all day :-( cant stop thinking about how bad this was. Ahhhhhh!! Why? How? I just can't believe it.

This is all Deja Vu for me. All that I'm hearing is exactly what happend with Mass Effect 3. Promises broken, False advertising, fan outrage, people investing 100's of hours of themselves or their life into a narrative, only to have it end in nonsense and laziness. And what did the studio say? That's art. Pfff. The same bullsh*t happend with Battlestar Galactica. I haven't seen it yet, but I will be going to Prometheus with the lowest of expectations. maybe then I won't feel conned.

... Please don't remind me of the eternal sadness syndrome associated with Mass Effect 3. When I finished that game 3 months ago, I haven't been able to play a game on my X-Box since. :- I pray this movie isn't nearly as disappointing!
