Anyone think the virals where better than the film? IF the Weyland TED talk, and Shaws "pitch" to Weyland for the funds (quite eye)for the trip. Davids creation, Davids backstory. If all that stuff would have been part of a "bigger" movie maybe it would have worked a whole lot better. RS did say he wanted a Lawrence of Arabia epic space opera. Opening the movie with young Peter Weylands TED talk would have probably been a killer way to start the film! (Yes Frantz I know you will hate that idea!) Also they needed to trim the crew down to maybe 8 as opposed to 17! Then we could have got to know them all a bit better and felt some empathy and upset when they died horrific painful deaths.... feelings? - Lets discuss ways in which this film could have been so much better.

Damn straight, you took the words out of my head The TED talk should have been the start of the movie, then hard cut straight to the stunning opening sequence of Prometheus. That would have made Waaaay more sense. I dont understand showing marketing hype the length of entire scenes that are then not included in the movie Not including the TED talk in the movie in my opinion is the worst cinematic move in the franchise That would be like having vast sprawling tv ads showing the Xenomorph homeworld with millions of the creatures, prior to the release of the original Alien movie...., then not including the footage in the movie Great for bums on seats marketing, but someone watching Prometheus 20 years from now wont have access to the TED talk scene, or any of the viral vids
