Okay Alien Fans This is my FINAL fix of the Prometheus plot. I was really disappointed with the muddled plot that they shot due to the enormous amount of holes and lack of logic in areas. I understand Scott's intention to create a whole new mythology that simply exists in the Alien universe and that is why In this revised plot I have tried to keep the intention to retain the new and original story with a grand premise, i.e. creation, but whilst also trying to relate it to the original story through relevant parallels, which I hope some of you guys will see. So here it goes and let me know what you think. PROMETHEUS: story by Scott, Spaihts, Lindelof & JonesJr In the distant past, the spacecraft of an advanced humanoid alien race arrives on Earth, the Engineers. A single Engineer visits a group of apes and injects a dark liquid into them. In 2089, archaeologist couple Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discover a star map among the remnants of several otherwise unconnected ancient cultures. They interpret this as an invitation from humanity's forerunners. Peter Weyland, the elderly founder of the Weyland Corporation, funds the creation of the scientific vessel Prometheus to follow the map to the distant moon LV-223. The ship's crew travels in stasis while the android David monitors their voyage. In 2093, the ship arrives, and its crew are informed of their mission to find the ancient aliens, called "Engineers". Mission director Meredith Vickers orders them to avoid any direct contact and return if the aliens are found. The Prometheus lands near an alien structure and a team including Shaw, Holloway, and David explores it, while Vickers and Captain Janek remain aboard the ship and monitor their progress. They find several ampoule-like artifacts, a monolithic statue of a humanoid head, a mural of a Xenomorph and the corpse of a giant alien thought to be one of the Engineers who had been killed thousands of years ago. Other bodies are later found, and the species is presumed to be extinct. David secretly returns an ampoule to the ship. A rapidly approaching storm forces the crew to return to Prometheus, leaving crew members Milburn and Fifield stranded in the structure. In the ship, Shaw and medic Ford analyze the Engineer's head, and discover that its DNA is almost identical to that of the human race. Meanwhile, David investigates the ampoule and discovers a dark liquid. He intentionally infects Holloway with the substance. Later, Shaw and the infected Holloway have intercourse. Inside the structure, Fifield and Milburn return to the temple room. Milburn discovers a secret room hidden behind the Xenomorph mural which the corpse of an Engineer chained to the wall with a huge hole in its chest and is filled with hundreds of large leathery eggs. One of the eggs opens up and releases a large facehugger-like creature. The creature chases Milburn who runs back into the temple room to get Fifield’s help. The creature wraps itself around Milburn and Fifield cuts the creature but it sprays a corrosive fluid which melts through Milburns neck and Fifield's helmet killing them both. The crew returns to the structure and find the corpses of Fifield and Milburn. David discovers a room containing a living Engineer in stasis and a star map highlighting Earth. David also accesses the Ship’s information and memory logs. Holloway's infection rapidly ravages his body, and he is rushed back to the ship. Vickers refuses to let him aboard, and immolates him at his own request. A medical scan reveals that Shaw, despite being sterile, is pregnant. David subdues her, to return her to Earth in stasis, but she escapes and uses an automated surgery table to cut xeno-like creature from her abdomen. Weyland is found to have been in stasis aboard the ship; he explains to Shaw that he intends to ask the Engineers to help him avoid his impending death. Janek meets with Shaw and theorizes that the planet was used as an Engineer military base until they lost control of their biological weapons; David enters the rooms and reveals to them that this place in not a place of death, but of life and that the history of man was born here. He explains that the Engineers on LV-223 were scientists who conducted experiments across the Universe thousands of years ago and that one Engineer had been conducting experiments on Earth, he came to be known in human history as Prometheus. The Engineer had injected apes with a bioforma containing Engineer DNA in the hope that he could create a hybrid equal to that of the Engineers. The experiment caused the apes to give birth to the first human beings. Prometheus would visit Earth every few centuries to nurture and advance his new creation. This angered the other Engineers as they feared that this new hybrid could become equal to and surpass them so they decided to kill Prometheus and create a new species that would destroy the humans, the Xenomorph. Prometheus found out about their plot and unleashed the Xeno Eggs on his fellow Engineers resulting in a new beast killing everything in its path. Prometheus got on the last ship to return to Earth but an egg had already been planted on there by the Engineers forcing Prometheus to crash on LV 426 and suffer his end. He explains that the ampoules contain our beginnings but the eggs contain our end. The crew return to the structure and awaken the Engineer, who is occupying what is discovered to be a space ship. David speaks to the Engineer, who responds by decapitating him and killing Weyland and Ford. Shaw escapes the alien ship as it is activated by the Engineer. The still-active David reveals that he does not have much time to live but that the Engineer is going to complete the original mission, killing the human race by releasing the eggs on Earth. Vickers orders Janek to return to Earth, but Shaw convinces him to stop the Engineer ship - he crashes the Prometheus into it while Vickers flees in the med pod. The disabled Engineer ship crashes onto the planet. Shaw goes to the med pod to retrieve supplies and finds her alien offspring has grown to gigantic size and is feasting on the remains of Vickers. David informs Shaw that the Engineer survived the crash and is coming for her. It enters the med pod and attacks Shaw, who releases the Xeno-like creature. It grabs the Engineer and drags him into the medical room before Shaw closes the door. Shaw recovers David's remains from the alien ship, and records her last log of what happened on LV 223. David reveals that there is another ship and they both take it to search for the Engineer home-world. The Engineer wakes up to find himself in the secret room hidden behind the mural and an alien egg opens up releasing a facehugger that jumps onto his face. The End

The only thing that needs to clarified in Prometheus is how the liquid relates to the Xenomorph, beyond that the story works perfectly fine.

Thanks guys. I tried not to relate the liquid directly to the Xenomorph as I wanted to maintain the motif that the ampoules contain Life and the eggs contain Death. This would explain why they are hidden behind the mural and that the Engineers knew what they had created and put a picture of it on the door to warn others. I also tried to stick to Scott's intention for sequels, which is why I allowed Shaw and David to live, but I changed their purpose from discovering why they created Humans to focus more on what the Engineer homeworld is like and, more importantly, who they believe is their God/s? In a way it's symbolic of an evolution in thought through the use of perspectives, e.g. Humans believe in a God, which turned out to be the Engineers, but what do our "Gods" believe?

Another thing I wanted to do is put a new perspective on the original Alien by transforming the original Space Jockey into our God, our Creator, who sacrificed himself to save our race. Now when people see Alien it makes them ask another question which highlights the ignorance of man: If you saw your God, would you know it?

JonesyJr, this is fine, assuming that Prometheus is not the first part of a cleverly thought out "trilogy". Erm,but it sounds like Lindelof is OPTING OUT (at least offering to) of the writing of Paradise, the alleged part two. WARNING SIGNALS.

WOW - Freeplanet! Thats great news if you have heard Lindelturd is opting out of part 2. That can only be a good thing! Get rid of Scott (obviously proved that he has lost it now) and we might be on to something!

Nice thread jonesyjr, The only thing i would add in is the transition from the engineer in the med lab to the "sacrifice room". Make it so we know that cuddles has impregnated him and as he tries to go back to the temple he sees the mural room door open and investigates it. He gets facehugged, again, and the creature that eventually comes out of him is a cuddles egg, xeno egg produced hybrid, some totally new creature that is worse than the xeno.
