MemberOvomorphJune 06, 2012822 Views10 RepliesI've heard people mention that there were chestburster holes in the chests of some of the S.J/Engineers that were all piled up when Fifield and the other dude found them after getting left behind, but i do not recall hearing or seeing this in the film. Is this true?

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."

Its true...Milburn and Fifield see the bodies, and those bodies have blown holes in Chests and heads, not all mind you but it can be seen

Is the burst head they take back to the ship meant to explain this? Like it's some sort of internal explosion.
Holloway would have suffered the same fate surely?

yeah its there...when they get 'lost' (excuse the pun) the end up out side what looks like another chamber door...where the bodies of dead engineers are piled in the darkness with holes in their chests and one or two with holes in the head...though wether the head holes are related is unclear....again i ask where did the offspring go?....no sign of them dead or alive....

*RELATED*......as in head busters! in relation to chest busters or just head injuries?....but the holes are there none the less

ok, i will have to look out more when i give it a second viewing :)
perhaps they head holes are from a xeno inner mouth/tongue attack on the SJ...

I think Ridley is covering two bases here....
Chest Busters could be Organism simular to the Xeno, or even the Xeno.
The Face Bursters could be like what happened with Milburn, the disapointment was after it left his mouth, it just disapeared and the crew never seemed that bothered or afraid of what happened.
Fifield was maybe one of the few crew who had any sence of caution, Vickers being the other.
It would had been interesting to find out more about the Cobraxeno Cycle but then again its hard to cover such in a movie that was only just over 2 hours and had a lot of bases it was trying to cover.
To me the Cobraxeno did not seem a hostile Organism, it did not seem like it had a purpose like Face Huggers, it seemed like maybe it never saw the Crew as a threat or Food or part of its Cycle.
Thus is was like a Cobra.... a King Cobra does not see Humans as Food, they wont just come upto you and attack.... but they will sit back and try and scare you off if you aproach.... If you then try and attack or touch it you will get bitten...
Where as Face Huggers act like say mosquito's they actively hunt down a Host so it can feed off them for its Cycle.

the head is not burst, it appears that he was decapitated just as the goo was taking it's effect, hence the newer black cells found on the surface
