IMAX 3D at Palms Casino

If you live in Las Vegas, you may not know that the IMAX at Palms Casino is the only full sized IMAX in all of Nevada, that's where I just saw Prometheus. I loved the movie, it was better than I thought it would be, even after having read a few spoilers before hand. There is only one thing I did not like about it, the awful light and airy music, it didn't fit the movie at all. I've never seen a Ridley Scott movie that had bad mismatched music before, I was really shocked that it would be so far off the mark. The music really grated on my nerves because it is really loud in IMAX and plays the loudest at times where you are trying to pay attention to what is going on. Since it doesn't add to the movie it might as well not be there. Anyway, everything else is awesome, the story, acting, effects, 3D, aliens, ships, all right on the money.

The music was awful! It ruined the movie for me. It just sounded like a rip off of every score from any big sci fi hit movie from the last twenty years. That one repeating part that repeated endlessly sounded like the opening keys for Star Wars. I wonder if it was intentional to generate some emotional connection from old favourite movies without having an original score. Too bad. Didn't see it in 3D, would have gone a second time but I will not torture myself with music again.
