Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

Trying to be too much like "2001: A Space Odyssey"?

Why did they have to tie in the story to human existence? Its like they are trying to make the black goo resemble the monolith in "2001". They are trying to get way too deep for a "Alien" film. Alien wasn't meant to be that kind of movie. Its horror/sci-fi/suspense. Plain and simple. They got away from that and thats why "Prometheus" is disappointing.

"They are trying to get way too deep for a "Alien" film. Alien wasn't meant to be that kind of movie. " Well I guess it's a good thing this isn't an Alien film then. Anyway, I think it's pretty easy to see why Ridley went this direction. In alien, it doesn't really make sense as to how a creature (facehugger) would be perfectly designed to attach to humans's faces to create xenomorphs if there wasn't something deeper going on. This movie explains why that is, and it has a much more meaningful story than any of the Alien films did.
