The engineer Head statue, and what it is.

When watching Prometheus have any of you ever wondered why the large head in the ampoules room is so scratched up and imperfect? What I've concluded from this is that the head is not of an engineers... How could it be? The engineers are perfect, they have perfect skin and there just over all flawless, in that case how is this one so scratched up and jaggedly? Well its because that's a statue of an elder engineer. Take a look at the elder engineer and you'll find it looks much similar to an elder engineer than to a engineer. The reason the engineers would have this large head in the ampule room is because the elder engineers are like their gods, in that case the in a way "worship" them. (possibly there in retail relation against them now) the elder engineers created the engineers genetically, that's why the engineers are all do "perfect".... Any thoughts? Even in the movies fifeild mention "could this be something they worship?" listen closely, it can easily be missed..
