MemberOvomorphOct-12-2012 7:16 AMInteresting Empire article on Prometheus, its development, the medpod scene and even a tiny bit about the sequel.
Sounds like ideas for that are swirling around if you read a bit more into Spaihts' "I cannot tell you what happens..." line. Meaning he already knows a bit of what happens?

MemberOvomorphOct-12-2012 8:02 AMThis is an extremely interesting article, this draft he talks about sounds very intriguing, and i feel that the direction he planned with Sir Ridley to go in sounds very good! Great Read!!! :D

MemberOvomorphOct-12-2012 11:19 AMWell, at least I know why the movie doesn't make sense now. What I keep reading about is logical reasoning for why the story is progressing, but the studio kept excising the xenomorph without smoothing out the missing patches enough.
The scene where Holloway births an alien during sex would have been really freaky. I still would have changed it to where he doesn't take his helmet off since the facehugger could still get through the helmet like in Alien.
The medpod scene with Shaw drifting in and out of consciousness while the alien is outside would have been scary too.
It's too bad the studio had to mess with the movie because it turned into a bunch of loose threads

MemberOvomorphOct-12-2012 1:58 PMWatching the special features on the blu-ray and the interview with Spaihts you get the feeling that he had something more to say but held back. He said he was taking back, surprised when the studio brought in Lindeldorf. By the time he entered the project Spaihts had re-written the script 4 times based on the changes RS made. Spaihts consider himself a real fanboy of Alien so he put his heart and soul into the first script. RS was on board with all the writing he had done so somewhere along the studio decided that a change had to be made and brought in dinkeldorf without telling Spaihts.
Seeing some of the early conceptual art you know this movie would have been a wild ride. I like the end result but may have loved the original idea if it went all the way.

MemberOvomorphOct-12-2012 2:44 PMSpaihts script sounds so much better. Especially the part were he says that he originaly wanted to have the Engineers arrive on the scene. It would of been awesome to see a squadron of Engineers making an apperance. Especially if the Yutani Corporation would arrive also. Then you would probably have the Engineers battling Yutani soldiers. But is what it is.

@HICKS; We never ever delete threads, the most we would do is edit it or lock. When locking a double post Staff always posts one or more links to re-direct the user to the earlier/original posts. Staff puts in a lot of time searching for double threads, so we are very careful to post links when we find them. :)
