Aliens: Colonial Marines Survivor Trailer

saw that. aside from the spitter alien (or whatever its called), the game looks promising. Why cant these companies refrain from adding the "butterfly-monkey-totally badass- im straight out of a 25 cent comic book-Alien? the spitter? the creeper? really? Id rather not. Having said that, looks like there is a lot to like about A:CM. Im definitely going to be picking it up when it comes out. Im cautiously optimistic. thanks for the link gareth.

I know why they are in there but I am not sure if you want me to spoil it. The reason I was given made sense to me when I asked one of the game producers.

Very cool, and I see they have a new Alien! Playing as an Alien, I'm not sure I'd want to play as this Alien, you pretty much just run into a swarm of Marines and kill yourself. Being a Marine however this would be the one I'd look out for the most. Cool vid, thanks for sharing!

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK you have been warned. I asked a game producer why there was a colony as there was a Mushroom Cloud the size of Nebraska. He said the reactor is well underground and while it did go boom, it left many of the structures as they were built to withstand all sorts of damage due to the hostile nature of space. The threat of course would be to any life which could not take the heat and radiation. He said that the aftermath of the blast had an effect on surviving Aliens and that is why we see new species, a mutation from the blast.

still dont like the new aliens, but at least they tried to rationalize their existence. Dont misunderstand, i may not be thrilled with the wacky xeno additions, but im still excited about the game. thanks for the explanation garethvk.

Haha this game looks like it's going to rock the socks off of me. I've been waiting for it so long now and with February coming closer I can just feel my spine tingling! Kudos for the post! :D

Don't have a PS3, although I do own an Xbox 360 :)
