I don't see why someone's opinion regardless of how out there we might perceive it to be, would cause someone to leave the site!!? Patience Korpen, we all have to tolerate the questionable along with the profound on this site since it is an open forum. Regarding this post I have no comment on it as I do not know much about mitochondrial DNA since it is outside of my field of science and as we all know, science is very compartmentalized and specialized the higher up you go in any area. I have learned from being here that its better to just look the other way regarding some posts than to react to them too strongly. If a post has no merit for me then I just ignore it...

Getting back to the point of this thread. The whole argument and evidence used to support the article, leading to the magic number of 6000 yrs is flawed. The majority of citations/ references are from conferences on creationism, and not from actual scientific papers from established scientific press imo. It's all in the fine print and easily missed. If you don't believe me go and check. Very convenient.

Custodian have you ever heard of ancient Sumer or Shine'ar of the Bible well thats what they are referring to. It absolutely cannot be 6,000 years old its much, much older back to Africa where ALL HUMANS ARE FROM. The Eve model has been used many times and it doesnt mean their was only one woman but there was a woman who passed on her genes to all of humanity. We go back all the way to the Great Rift Valley somewhere near Zimbabwe. I believe that evolution and creation to be the same thing. Science and Religion are preaching the exact same thing.

Besides all that website is trying to prove is that the Earth is only 7,000 years old and thats NOT TRUE AT ALL. The only reason why they use 7,000 years is because 7 was a sacred number the Sumerians, 7 tablets which tell the 7 epochs of creation and we are the 7th planet from the outside of the solar system counting inward. The 6,000 years is how long ago the first civilization arose around the Fertile Crescent or Mesopotamia. Also, in the Bible it says each day is LIKE a thousand years in reality its more LIKE a couple million years of time.

if we came form Adam and Eve 6000 yrs ago then why didnt we go estict 6000 yrs ago? didnt Adam and Eve have two sons and one of them died so there are alot of holes in creationism. the bible just filled in the questions that no one could answer back then 2000+ years ago. i think something did add something to our DNA because we havent found the missing link between us and apes. i also wondered that if we only evolved from primates then why havent any of the other primates evolved, why is advanced evolution unique to us?. im wondering if the ancient cultures where telling myths or recounting actual events in their texts.

believing mankind is only 6000 years old is just ridiculous. we evolved from the 'primeval ooze' into mammals then into apes and then into homoerectus ,then to modern man (with quite a few steps missed out, but you get the picture). The process took millions of years . Ill be blatant when i say this , for obvious creationist to conjure up #cough#' scientific evidence' to support their theories is a poor attempt the blurr the lines between fact and myth. In saying that I have no problem with christains, for some people it can be a good thing. But i dont think its for all, me being one of them. The theory of Darwinism is way believable and has a scientific approach. As apposed to "god did it!"

As someone who has two degrees in Religious studies...and has study the Hebrews teaching for some 30 years and and can some Hebrew.I'm sad to read how so many people have no clue what's in the Bible.Though the internet isn't full of the most knowledgeable folks. First ...Adam and Eve had 3 sons that we know by name...Cain,Abel,and Seth...but they has had many other childern both male and female.“After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters.”Genesis 5:4 ..the Jewish historian Josephus even gave a number to them Adam and Eve had 33 sons and 33 daughters. Second...the story of Adam and Eve have been around a whole heck a lot longer than 2,000 years so that throws off the just filling in gaps some 2,000 years ago. Third....Noah was perfect in his time...no he wasn't perfect as a person but his dna was perfect...so yes something was messing around with a lot of stuff during that time.Does the Bible say what that "something" was?Why yes it does!
