What kind of April Fools joke will Fox play on us?

I imagine something like this,even tho it won't happen.

The movie is still coming out on May 19 (don't get mad pls).

We apologize greatly for this but the servers storing the video footage of Alien: Covenant have been hacked by the Russians & Chinese and all the voice files have been corrupted to sound like Chop Sucky.

Indeed. Reminds me a bit of the MASH episode about the practical joke that never happened. The joke was all about the build up and anticipation of the victim and then- nothing happened. If that is the idea then it seems a seed of a rumor should start soon. Only a couple people would be in the know.

I just learned that James Cameron has been directing Alien: Covenant the whole time!

FOX Studios Release: To the fans of the Alien Movie Series who are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Alien: Covenant, we regret to to inform you that Alien Covenant has been temporarily cancelled due to our production team hopelessly losing track of what script we are currently on.

We have desperately tried to reassemble a coherent story by mixing and matching scripts ideas from writers on the SCIFIED forum, splicing old Alien material, and pulling stuff out the ol' rectal database. Heck, we have even resorted to clicking our the heels of our ruby slippers together.

To our disappointment, and we are sure, to our fans' as well the it, the film as it currently sits is getting viewer reactions akin to "Battlefield Earth". It goes without saying that level of movie quality should never be released. 

We ask the patience of all the fans of the Alien series. We also ask for some decent ideas (Please, no Alien vs. Guardians of the Galaxy storylines...) Once we have finished scouring all the AC forums, we should be back on the right track.

Hopefully, if all goes well we should get this film released before the end of of 2018, give a take a year or so. In the meantime, we at FOX Studios are offering a free Directors Cut version of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem, to all our fans as a token of our appreciation to you.

We understand and anticipate some backlash and angst from the fans, but we expect you will get over it and see the movie when it comes out.
