Walter revealed as the final antagonist?

I think maybe yes....

They seem to be pushing David as a creepy, untrustworthy Robot with his own Godlike Agenda..

And Walter as the Family Friendly Robot....

And i dont expect a movie as Clear Cut and Dry as that... its interesting as i feel there has to be a FEW big Twists in the movie and one Clear One seems to be around Walter/David

And there are a number of ways this could be exploited..

But then again is Ridley giving us the Double Bluff... so we think... hang on... i know whats happening here.. Twist is a Switch-a-Roo or Walter becomes Bad.... but then reveal thats not the case at all... as we been Double Bluffed.

There are a lot of clues in the trailers and information since, that shows the movies Timeline is not as straight forwards as the 4Chan leaks.

There are a lot of things that dont add up, as far as a Ship Lands, Walter and Co depart some get infected, find the Juggernaught, get attacked by Neomorphs and Xenos... see a Fassbender Lab and infects Oram (Crudup) people die left right and centre and Tennessie comes to rescue.... Alien tries to get on board... 

Make it back to the Covenant, a Alien does get on board, kills few more... then what looks like it could get blown out of the ships Cargo Hold.....  Then leave us with a Ending... that i think has to set up the potential for a sequel.

I just dont think its a cut and dry as that..

Oh thats no Spoiler as well this is what the Trailers show us.  Which is similar to 4Chan a bit LOL

So yes there is potential for a few twists...

Like i was saying above.... there are a number of Questions left by the role of David/Walter in the Trailers as far as Time Frame and also Clothing and Equipment..

Unless David is so advanced that drop him off on a island with just Sea, Sand, Trees, Wildlife and such and he can in 10 years manufacture Textiles, Metals, Technology that Mankind has like Nowadays....  all on his own?

Maybe .... who knows.

I agree that Walter and David 8 may have directives superior (corporate priorities) to everything related to crew concerns (that the androids keep private) and they may be able to communicate with each other (Walter and David 8) without the humans knowing it.

I haven't seen 4 chan but it seems David/Walter working together could be kind of boring unless done in a subtle way that kept the audience in the dark almost as much as the crew until a reveal.

I've always agreed with your Data/Lore assement of the two dk.I just don't see these two seeing eye to eye with each other.Most notably i think David will consider Walter vastly inferior to him.From what i can tell Walter might have some behavior limitations that David lacks.I think David will take advantage of this somehow and use it against Walter and the crew of the Covenant.

Agree. There has to be conflict to keep it interesting.

Previously I was concerned that Walter would just sort of be a background character with David being front and center.The more i learn,The more believe this is going to be about David and Walter,not as much about Daniels,though she is our lead.

I look forward to the David/Walter dynamic more than anything else, sort of how I thought David carried Prometheus. Despite what other sites put out, I can't help but think RS and FOX are holding back quite a bit.

Agreed.I don't really follow leaks,and some are criticizing the marketing for giving to much away,but I firmly believe we haven't even cracked the surface yet.Back on point,due to the Fox event last night,I kinda want to say i think we can perhaps ditch the David/Walter switcheroo.But maybe not yet.

Maybe a lesson was learned- after watching Prometheus I realized most of the movie was in the trailer.

Well from the Set Visit reports one Reporter was Told that David actually sees Walter like a sibling...  He may pity Walter and his restraints which the Frankenstein Quote “How dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge " From the Viral Video Teaser

And so as Lucifer had done with Eve and Adam, maybe David can enlighten Walter to Knowledge that allows him to realize he is serving a inferior race.

Something like that seems very likely...

The more we learn from the viral, the more I'm convinced that Walter knows David is there before arriving on the planet. 

Originally, I thought maybe Daniels or Tennessee would possess knowledge of the Prometheus mission etc., but I now think only Walter and David really know..  

David may possess data from his experiments that he's willing to share with Walter -- if Walter takes the time to "get to know him."  Walter might be able to fully understand David's point of view or take an imprint of David's perspective.  So he could, in theory, willingly agree to a "merger" of sorts with David's mind.

My working theory is that when Walter becomes David, he's technically still Walter, in a way, because he's been specifically built to incorporate David into his own personality matrix.

The company couldn't just send another David 8, or a David 9.... I think they had to go and create this new line of android known as Walter to make everything line up better.     

David might think of himself as being more like the mythical Prometheus, who in the myths is associated with foresight; whereas, Walter is his brother, Epimetheus, and possesses hindsight.  There'd be no need for these two brothers to fight.  

Walter may discover they have even more in common than they know and view David as a bro, instead of as his foe.  

It's bad news for the crew if these two androids start talking shop.  Walter would prefer to maintain the fire in the forge, while the creation part would be David's role in the workshop. A torch is passed to Walter; fire is able to be carried forward.

Great topic guys! I think David will imprint on Walter so even if David is destroyed all the knowledge he acquired will be transferred to Walter? Perhaps even "all" Walter models. Imagine the damage thousands of Walter's could do with the knowledge that David acquired? Disastrous! That's how I think it will play out. Walter may attempt an "upgrade" of David at some point and it will completely backfire leaving a completely different Walter than in the beginning of the film. 

I Seriously think the Walter that we see at the beginning will not be the same by the end of the movie. Somehow, David is going to go Full Metal Jacket on his programming and I think Walter will turn out to be a villain.

Then again, I could be wrong...I will keep making stuff up until I get it right...

either Walter is programmed and turned to evil, he already has twitches in his programming like any model from Weyland Yutani or David 8 has something to do with it. It could even be that Walters mind was overwritten by David 8. I am pretty sure you can replace a certain AI with another :-)

I believe David will be the main villain of the film, while Walter will be the hero.

the possible twists between the 2 are fascinating and one of the main reasons I cant wait for AC. I would give the upper hand to david. though he is an older model, he has experience over walter. he is more street smart and manipulative, or at least he should be. walter really shouldn't stand a chance against him. I can see david downloading himself in a way into walter, viewing him as a friend or a back up. what if he convinces walter to connect to him. he knows humans r coming as he sent the signal so he has a program waiting. walter hooks up for data sharing but is unaware of the hidden program. something happens to david and when he goes offline, the program boots up and walter changes? I think no matter how ridley puts it on screen, david will live on after AC
