In space, you can’t hear people mock your scarf and flip-flops outfit.

I agree that in the history of cinema that that there has been no better candidate for the immediate use of a flamethrower on than Dr. Charlie Holloway. This view still stands when noting Zombie movies. Yes, fry the zombies but only after Charlie.

I have read criticisms of Logan Marshall-Green’s acting but I really do think he nailed it.

I apologize for the disgusting nature of the above photograph.

Dr. Holloway is shown spoiled, drunk, and pouting after the arrival on LV-223 did not include an Engineer parade (inconsiderate dead Engineer photo below) and someone handing him a pamphlet showing how he was created (and he only has time for pagan explanations). How familiar this image above has been as a reflection in my mirror…scary.

Can we admit that Dr. Holloway performed the biggest fumble in humanity’s history?

Dr. Holloway’s “anything and everything” definition of boundaries removed all restraint from David.

If I was asked by David 8 at the pool table why we (his creator) chose to create him I would tell him he was made in an attempt to reach our dreams in a way that we could not without him with tears in my eyes.

Then I would say I needed to puke (he would want to wait to put black goo in my drink hopefully) and run strait to Captain Janek. I would ask Captain Janek if there was a performance bonus for letting David experiment on members of the crew we didn’t like. If no bonus, then we would have to dust off the “Let’s waste the robot” plans.

These grotesque displays of spoiled pouting, I believe, brought the viewer into the place where the flamethrower was the best idea ever. I strongly believe Logan Marshall-Green should have won an award (or all of them) for this display. When I saw this display it was as if we were intra-century twins.

Any criticism of the above content is your welcome opinion. Please do not be vulgar.

Agree. He might have lived longer had he not insulted David and then told him he would do anything and everything.

I'm a Prometheus fan,and while i don't like the guy,i don't really like him either.I don't feel a damn thing when Vickers torches him(except for Shaw, say what you want about her,but nobody deserves to watch their boyfriend become French toast)I personally would have loved to seen what he would have become if he wasn't fried.

Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

As the scene between him and David, there's a particular nuance I love about it.Holloway is rolling those poolballs across the table and David grabs it,clearly out of irritation.

Hate Logan ("Lawfirm") Michelle Michael Casbah Stephen Yello-Green's acting. He is absolutely horrific, and that's BEFORE he becomes Black-Gooified.

BUT, that is some FUNNY shite, Ingeniero! Thanks for that!

His scientific belief didn't bother me...it was how he acted, non humble condescending toward others with his self righteous egotistical attitude( like some popular scientists today) . His arrogance is what doomed him. Which pleased me. Lol

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 3:22 PM

His scientific belief is fine...great territory for debate Shasta cyclone.

Yes dk. He, Dr. Holloway, made a habit of insulting David (below).

My next topic will be about what is happening in this above image.

Starlogger, thank you...I use term "shite" too.

He was obnoxious certainly, but he obviously love Elizabeth.

I don't have any issues with his acting at all; it was more the script.  It's hard to defend taking the helmet off, and he was too quick to commit suicide by incinerator when they could've tried the medpod as Janek pointed out.

Otherwise no problems.

Since the topic title starts with 'In defence...'

What's the problem with his outfit? David wears flip-flops as well... I like the scarf, and the cap, too. I have three similar 'pilot' caps.

I like his acting, and his name is Logan Marshall-Green...

'Respect' is a beautiful word.

I am the last person to criticize flip-flops Ati. I buy TREDAGAIN, recycled tires flip-flops and have a heel spur because I do not wear shoes with enough support.

I respect that you like the scarf.

It is a nice scarf but the combo looks like Dr. Holloway is running for Chancellor of Frat Boy Fashion Planet.

Billy Crudup wears flip-flops in the jail scene of Sleepers and performs very well. And the fact David wears flip-flops just makes me love him more.

"in Defence"...of Lachelle Michelle Captain Michael Orange Green's role in Prometheus:

Simple answer:

There is None. Absolute zero.

"Lachelle Michelle Captain Michael", now that is funny Starlogger.

Yes, the performance is open to interpretation.

The only problem I have with him is the way he reacts to finding an alien civilization.  I mean, it was the first time ever right?  If so, he should be thrilled and be looking for more signals after they get there.  More digging.  Examining more things.  Not drunk and sad.  That reaction just did not make any sense.  Anyone, not just him, would have been blown away to discover an ancient civilization, alive or dead, on another planet.  Hell, most people would be thrilled to find LIFE on another planet..  as in, tiny life, not giant structures.  So yeah, his character is flawed..  Deeply.

Oh s*** time to bring out my flamethrower again here (just my opinion folks!)

Funny thing is that the violins in the "infected" track tried their best to force out some compassion from the audience when he nicely conducted himself the a**hole as opposed to a likable, well established character (the latter being non-existent in Prometheus, everyone was either naive, shallow, exaggerated, bored or "woody") that you wouldn't want to see die.

It doesn't matter how much he loved his girlfriend imo, real life a-holes could be sweet towards their partners but more or less egocentric bastards towards everyone else, and that makes them unlikeable, no matter how heroic they were when they quickly wipe that away with dick-mode enabled.

Another funny thing imo is that you could clearly see which characters were going to die first far in advance judging by some extremely stereotypical characters; the clumsy and idiotic "comic-relief duo", "the smug douche", and the "evil businesswoman"

And look at the fingers! Awesome. Those fingers are not human. Holloway was an android.

Ingeniero

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 4:41 PM

Androids have been working hard giving him manicures Ati while Dr. Holloway watches student/interns working hard digging in the dirt.

Exactly Drake I also pointed that out here a while ago.

You visit a planet, with a barren landscape and an ancient-looking temple (should sort of give away the fact that there's little chance of life here)

They are on another planet with more than just a cave painting.

They are on a planet with several temples. Lots of stuff to research and gather back to earth.

And after all that.....

........he chose the bottle.

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 4:46 PM

Ok, but Logan has beautiful ankles. Scott saw his ankles and shouted: 'You have to wear flip-flops in my movie! Frat boy or not, I need them!'

Ingeniero

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 4:48 PM

Perfect point Drake and Neomorph. I would wear out the scientists with questions with what they found on LV-223.

Pouting was out of place but could fit within "the smug douche" character.

Yes Ati, the ankle aesthetic is very important to the look and feel of Prometheus.

@Ati funny stuff! Sorry to shite on your beloved character ;)

Ati

And his lips, you added awesome images showing his lips. Is there anybody on Earth who does not envy those lips?

Ati

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 4:57 PM

Starlogger, no problem. :)

Flip-flop David and flip-flop Charlie are the two most (sexually) attractive units of the flip-flop android series.

Here's what we do know... there is no defense for his awful acting throughout the film.

MemberChestbursterMar-13-2017 5:00 PM

That facial expression on the picture is the very personification of the phrase  "unlikeable douch who may be slightly horny for no apparent reason"

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 5:00 PM

Well, JazzHands, he does have a pretty mouth from the feedback I've heard.

But we should admit he is not the only one.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2017 5:21 PM

I gotta say I liked him. I liked the blinded excitement he had as the egotistical "best of the best" scientist that found the most significant discovery- why not be cocky and see where it got him--> relief from a flame thrower.  And he has a new role as a completely different character in a show named Quarry and (I might be alone but) he's amazing in it

Neomorph

MemberChestbursterMar-13-2017 5:22 PM

Here's a showcase of his incredible range of dramatic diversity used repeatedly.

Eyebrows raised, mouth neutral:

Neutral eyebrow position, mouth open (!)

His left eyebrow is slightly more raised than his right one. Mouth neutral.

"Concerned" look. Mouth neutral.

MemberPraetorianMar-13-2017 5:27 PM

Ok, fine Ati. He does have a pretty mouth and he is not the only one. And I do wish they found the story capital to put this mouth on Dr. Holloway.

I believe the best mouth model used in Prometheus was this actor:

I liked him very much in Devil (2010), and the movie is very good as well in my op.

Quarry:

He's looking for an android, no doubt.
