Is Alien Covenant the only movie you're looking forward to?

Besides Alien Covenant, what other sci-fi movies are you all looking forward to?

I'm personally excited about Alita: Battle Angel that is coming out on July 20th, 2018. It's being written and produced by James Cameron.

Blade Runner and Ghost in The Shell, mostly because I think the backlash is ridiculous and I want the movie to do well because I want more anime adaptations.

Also, has anyone watched The Expanse?  It's a surprisingly good sci fi tv series.

Aside from ALIEN: Covenant, I also want to see Blade Runner 2049 (because I was impressed with Villeneuve's work on Arrival), The Predator, and Star Wars Episode VIII, but I'm not going mad with anticipation for them. I'll admit wholeheartedly to being a bit crazy about ALIEN: Covenant, though. I don't know what I'll do with myself after I see it--I'll have nothing to anticipate/obsess over.

Rick thanks for giving Ghost in the Shell a thumbs up.I'm a long time fan of the property,more so for the Manga and Stand Alone Complex series then the original movie.I've been pretty excited and also concerned about the quality of the film ever since I first heard about it,and the recent reviews and poor box office more or less confirmed those fears,but I wasn't going to let it stop me from seeing and hopefully enjoying the Movie

nin, it's worth seeing.  I would spend the money again to see it.

DW - The expanse is a decent show.  I kinda like the spaceship fights.  The last show I saw was the one where Pheobe station with the new life form in it pushed itself out of the way of the other ship (I can't think of its name)

I haven't had the opportunity to check out Ghost in the Shell yet, but I heard that it flopped very badly at the box office.

Many people on social media seem glad that it failed and blame the director's choice of "white-washing" the cast.

@Rick

I like the grittiness of the expanse.  It seems like a pretty realistic portrayal of what life would be like in that world.  It shows just how vital basic resources like water and air are in space, and that living in the outer colonies would clearly be rougher due to a lack of those resources.  I also think the class systems are pretty realistic, like how the belters are the "low" class, basically doing the "grunt" work of the solar system like hauling massive ice chunks to sell for water. The politics are very interesting too, like how they deal with warfare and just how they manage everything overall.  The graphics are very well done, as you mentioned the ship fights.  I also like the different factions.  It's cool being able to "root" for someone.  I also think the proto-molecule is a great plot device.  It's something interesting I haven't really seen used before, and it's a cool way of getting into alien territory without just going "boom... Aliens!".  Definitely one of the most polished SyFy original shows I've seen and one of the best sci fi shows to come out recently.

@GX

I forgot about the Dark Tower movie.  Definitely my favorite Stephen King series.  I'm looking forward to that.

@Foxxy

Im sad to hear the movie flopped.  I didn't get to see it this past weekend but am going see it this coming weekend.  I hope the numbers get better.  Leftist American SJWs seem to be the only people who have a problem with the casting, so maybe it will do better internationally.  That is part of the reason they made it less ethnocentric to Japan, so it would have worldwide appeal.  I think it will be a shame if it does poorly and the movie is actually good.  I was looking forward to this being to start of getting all the anime adaptations I've been dreaming of for years.  It sucks that people have to drag identity politics into everything.

Damn! I still haven't been able to scrub the movies from the off the beaten path scifi movie threads.
