-- domestic: 57,3 million dollars so far
-- worldwide: 158,3 million dollars so far
The movie has not been released on more markets yet, so jumping to conclusion regarding flops is pointless.
Sequel has ALREADY been greenlighted, even before this movie was released. The powers that be at Fox were pleased enough with it at prescreenings, I assure you.
I wouldn't be surprised if they shot some stuff at the AC set. You know, since everything was set up and all. Yeah I sound like a broken record lol!
Prometheus in China did 30 million and in Japan did 21 million. The only increase in Box Office from Prometheus has been the limited number of Asian countries. So If that trend continues we should see a slight up tick in China and Japan numbers....although nothing is certain. So you have the current $160 million worldwide. Lets add another $25 million Domestic, that equates to 85 million domestic. Let's lowball China and Japan and give it 40 million combined and give the other foreign markets another 20 million total over it's run. $245 million worldwide....although I think it will be a bit higher $260 to $280 million....that's just my math though....I've been wrong many times in the past.
There is no way they are going to rebuild the Space Jockey set again!....I'm still amazed they rebuilt it for a little scene in Alien :Covenant! (A dark scene where you could barely make out anything!) ..I think it's clear, they built it for the sequel to A:C...the final bridge to A L I E N. Where we get to see the chestburst? Or the pods being placed?
Like to hear if the Space Jockey set is still intact?
Bloody disgusting dropped this a few hours ago. Quite a contrast from last week's article.
I don't know where they got an ending domestic run of $70 million at. It's 60 million now, it'll be $70 million by early next week. $400 million to break even seems high, being Prometheus barely broke $400 million and they greenlit Covenant. You would think if they lost money on Prometheus they wouldn't of made Covenant. Prometheus was more expensive to make also...130 million. So I would think 300 to $320 million was the break even point for Prometheus. One thing is for sure, the profit margin for Covenant will be much less then Prometheus. They definitely need to change things up for the next one though if they make one.
