’Fox also saw Alien: Covenant launch in its final international market with a $2.6 million debut in Japan bringing the film's international cume to $162 million. Covenant's $236.3 global total ranks it as the second largest film in the Alien franchise globally, though it remains $167.1 million behind Prometheus.

Typhoon Talim Triggers Evacuations in Japan Amid Record Rainfall

’Typhoon Talim made landfall on Japan’s Kyushu island Sunday, spurring authorities to call for the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents amid record rainfalls measured in some areas.

Bullet trains operators reported stoppages because of electricity outages and heavy rain. About 110 millimeters (4.3 inches) of rain in one hour was recorded in Oita prefecture, with some areas receiving more in one day than is typical for an entire month, according to NHK.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said it expects Talim to proceed up the Japanese archipelago through Monday and issued warnings of potential landslides and flooding.’

I think it was an experiment to see if the movie can make more money in the most adverse conditions, than it was spent for its production :)

It seems it did.

Call me easily entertained or what ever, the title of the post really makes me laugh. It will probably be my favorite title of any post this year.

Those that dislike the movie and don't want more people to watch AC manipulated the weather against it. :D

Disasters and tragedies usually do not make people laugh but we are different human beings with different thoughts so we have to accept the fact that there are readers who find this post funny.

I don't find human tragedies funny. I found the title funny since it read to me like the weather was conspiring against the movie. Please read the second paragraph of my reply. I never made fun of any deaths what so ever nor was it my intention.

Thoughts_Dreams Don't let Ati give you a hard time. What you said is understood and in any case he is the only one who trivialized a human tragedy with this silly post.

I did. You write: 'Those that... don't want more people to watch AC...'

It's shocking. I think it's sad and ridiculous that you think that you have to tell others what to do. Everybody has the right to watch a movie and decide on its quality alone. But it is only my opinion...

Ati In a way I am happy this time I am not the target of your ire. However, I feel sad that you have to embarrass yourself like this. After all, there is a positive side to your virtual persona and I enjoy many of your contributions to this forum. With his line "Those that dislike the movie and don't want more people to watch AC manipulated the weather against it. :D" Thoughts_Dreams  is just ironically describing your mindset, which is: you think that people who didn't like Covenant don't want other people to watch it because it is a big conspiracy. You made that clear many times; either you don't get irony or you try to make people look bad by twisting their words in the hopes the other users didn't read the original post. You should be a good sport and apologize to Thoughts_Dreams.

Ati: What people enjoy and not is a varied thing. I just laughed at the thought that the weather by some conspiracy crashed it for those that like Alien Covenant and that the biggest problem as far as the head-line is concerned is that many people didn't get to see AC not that people get homeless and other bad things caused by the shitty weather.

I just think that people should be allowed to like what ever movie they want, doesn't mean that I have to agree with them.

Nobody claimed in this thread that you have to agree with them!

You wrote: 'Those that dislike the movie and don't want more people to watch AC manipulated...'

This sentence is about the fact that there are people (including you?) who don't want more people to watch AC. Members and other readers can understand this sentence, they don't need me to explain it better.

No it is not, once again you misunderstand me. What I mean is that it is like some animated show were they have things doing surreal crap. It is almost like someone gave that weather cloud a conscious so it could decide what ever it would like to do. It is almost like the weather deiced like "what shall I do today (heavily bored)... let's go f shit up!" To me that almost felt like a surreal animated movie with some slightly bizarre things happening that is what made me laugh not the fact that less people could watch it or that it probably cause many people some serious trouble. The head-line made me laugh because of how it was written not that it made less people watch AC (!).

As far as the claim that I don't want people to watch AC is kind of irrational. I watched it four times and I am not a huge fan of it but sure people can check it out if they want to.

Ati: My support or not shouldn't be an issue here. What is important is that people get a lot of trouble from that bad weather, some maybe die and so on. A movie should be a non-issue compared to that. What is most important: a movie or staying alive? Once again, the focus of the post is bizarre but I am not sure if you get it and no it doesn't matter if you say that "well it fits because it is an alien covenant board".
