MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 4:31 AMHello, this is the original Spinosaurus Rex from 5+ years ago (I really can’t believe it’s been that long). I’ve made a couple of visits here from time to time to see how things may have changed or if anybody from my time may still here. I miss our shinanigans and conversations, though they did tend to get out of hand from time to time lol. Nevertheless, I’m just curious to see how many new members there have been (here on the JP forums) since I’ve been away and of course, anybody who was here at the time I was. I’m free to talk about anything Jurassic Park/ Dinosaur related as I’ve got a couple years of college in geology under my belt, that and feel the need to express my disdain for where JW is headed lol. Anyways, I’d much enjoy to see some replies!

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 2:14 PMI knew what you were talking about from the beginning lol. I’m just saying even though they didn’t go through with showing a full size Dilo like the one in the concept, they still have a chance to bring one in for a future installment given the points I stated.

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 2:23 PMwell the hologram Dilophosaurus from Jurassic World was bigger than the JP Dilophosaurus, the hologram Dilophosaurus was the same size as Delta
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 2:28 PMBut that still didn’t give justice to the Dilos that were 10 ft tall in the book, and not to mention like you said, it was only a hologram. They had a great opportunity to introduce a full sized one in Fallen Kingdom, but just like everything in that movie, they massively under delivered.

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 2:30 PMhopefully we get a fully grown dilophosaurus in the next movie

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 2:54 PMThat’s what I keep hoping for myself, but I’m not expecting much for the future to be completely honest.
Trevorrow and Connelly have effectively more or less killed the franchise for me and with them two returning as well as the woman who was responsible for ruining Pacific Rim Uprising picking up a role in scriptwriting, I’m not really feeling any excitement for JW3.
It’s horrible I even say that knowing that Sam, Laura, and Jeff are returning for sizable roles and normally I’d be ecstatic, but that’s if the last two movies were actually any good.
Horrifically, this franchise is headed down the same road as many other critically acclaimed franchises that have already been ruined by today’s agendas, such as politics, social justice and overall creating an aura that is centered around, well... children.
I mean when I say I’m disgusted, I mean I’m completely appalled by how Hollywood is destroying once great things and have turned them into propaganda for the aforementioned reasons.

MemberXenomorphNov-19-2019 2:55 PMDilophosaurus is cool. My favorite is Velociraptor (Well, it used to be my profile pic after all!) and Carnotaurus.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 2:57 PMCarnotaurus is amongst my favorite dinosaurs as well, it used to pretty much be my second favorite after all.

MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 5:12 PMMy favorite Dinosaur is Spinosaurus, but my favorite prehistoric creature is Megalodon, as you can tell by my profile pic... if it doesn't just look like a regular shark lol. I really wish that the Dilophosaurus (even just like the tiny one in JP if they didn't feel like making it bigger) was in one of the previous movies, and it WOULD be cool to see it in JW3, BUT it would also really, REALLY suck for them to do that. At this point its like if they don't put it in, "where is it?" and everyone will be mad it was only in the first movie. If they DO put it in, it won't live up to the hype that's been built up after so long of not seeing it, like if there ever was a Half-Life 3 made, it would never be good enough. Also, with the plot of JWFK, it wouldn't make sense for there to be a Dilophosaurus anyways since they died on Isla Nublar (by the way, why wouldn't they try to capture a Dilophosaurus? It would be a really good addition to the whole militarized Dinosaur shtick by being a ranged attacker/sniper, it'd make a good pet or trophy, especially if they increased its size. It would have been a great addition to their auction! That would have been the perfect way to reintroduce the Dilophosaurus into Fallen Kingdom (if they added a horror scene with it) and keep it in the franchise). One could argue that they may have been engineered by other people, but then there's almost no way for it to logically be like the one in Jurassic Park, because they wouldn't splice the genome the EXACT same way they did in 1993. Even if it IS, well, why is it there NOW?!!!!! No matter what they do regarding the Dilophosaurus, they've basically messed it up.

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 5:38 PMUmmm hold the phone LazyFish, the Dilophosaurus isn't listed as extinct also one of the embryo vials that were being taken by Maranai Mercenaries belong to a dilophosaurus so.... they aren't extinct yet
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 6:20 PMXenotaris
It wasn't listed as extinct BEFORE JWFK, but I said that because of the Isla Nublar extinction, and almost all the creatures on Isla Sorna being taken to Isla Nublar and those that were less attractive were left to die, Dilophosaurus is extinct because none were saved. We don't know for sure if any of the embryos saved were Dilophosaurus embryos. Even if they were, Wu's main laboratory was blown up, so they're probably lost. Even if they AREN'T a pile of ash, if they're all dead, then they're extinct. I mean, if a creature goes extinct and it can be revived, it's still extinct for at least a short period of time.

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 7:31 PMI think the dilophosaurus was saved off screen much like the Nasutoceratops as shown in Battle at Big Rock
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 7:49 PMWell, we don't know that the Nasutoceratops was saved off screen, especially when we saw the entire Dino room at the end of JWFK, and we see ALL the Dinosaurs run out from there, there was no Nasutoceratops or Dilophosaurus. Most likely, Nasutoceratops was engineered by a new country and given growth hormones, enough to the point where there's fully grown ones in a year and a half. It'd make sense as to why we didn't see the Nasuto. The same could apply to the Dilo, but still, my main point was that there is almost no possible way they can appease the fan base on the subject of Dilophosaurus, and it'll only get worse if they actually do make more movies after JW3 if they don't include it in this movie.

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 8:36 PMThank you, Svanya! It took me a second to recognize your name lol
Xenotaris
MemberPraetorianNov-20-2019 12:17 AMwait a second the Natsutoceratops wasn't engineer by a new country, it was implied to have been with the other escaped dinosaur since its only been a few months after Fallen Kingdom
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-20-2019 8:24 AMWell, not just a few months, over a year. And that's not implication, that's more something you would assume IF we didn't get a view of EVERY SINGLE Dinosaur that escaped the Lockwood Manor.

MemberChestbursterNov-20-2019 8:49 AMOk, so maybe not the Dilophosaurus, but the one that really grinds my gears and tests my patience is the Dimorphodons, seeing as none of them even appeared once in JWFK, so that means they should be extinct. And yet, they were listed as endangered, so now I question where they went if they were endangered. And don't even get me started on the way the Baryonyx looked in the film compared to the website. I liked the original website version better, and I don't know why they had to ruin that except for a Spinosaurus reference scene. It is all just so dumb, and I have now lost hope in the franchise. It's so sad, really.
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-20-2019 9:12 AMWell, the Dimorphodons might have flown off the Island like the Pteranodon in Jurassic Park. They might have snuck onto the ship like rats. They might have just been hiding in the forests most of the film? Who knows really. Dimorphodons do have a chance to have survived, and it wouldn't really take more explaining than they snuck onto the ship.

I never noticed that there were no Dimorphodons in FK, but then again, I had already given up perhaps a quarter of the way into the movie because I caught early on about how FK was going to pan out.
Needless to say, I haven’t watched it again to try and catch what I may have missed the first round, after all, it’s the first movie I ever considered walking out on. I came close when I saw Burt Wonderstone, but even closer with FK, didn’t see it possible. I especially didn’t see it possible with my favorite franchise.
All I have to say is who in the HELL made the executive decision to put a poorly known filmmaker and his accomplice, whose only credible production was a B rate film called “Safety Not Guaranteed”, in charge of a critically acclaimed franchise? It pisses me off to no end, seriously. There’s a damn good reason why they took Colin out of the director’s chair for a new Star Wars movie.
One final thing to note: Derek Connelly was the one who wrote the screenplay for the blockbuster, Oscar-worthy film “Monster Trucks”. Let that sink in...

That’s the only explanation I could have on behalf of the Dimorphodons. But, that also begs the question on why any of the pterosaurs would still reside on an island that’s volcanically active and give mercenaries the chance to capture them and bring them to the mainland. The whole movie and it’s logistics have me in a state of perplexity.

MemberChestbursterNov-20-2019 10:01 AMSee, this is why JWFK shouldn't have been made the way it was. It is so frustrating and disappointing.

MemberPraetorianNov-20-2019 10:08 AMI guess i'm the only Jurassic Park fan that like Fallen Kingdom
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-20-2019 10:13 AMIt should have been split up into two movies, one for the island half, the other for the Lockwood Manor. It would have been less tone deaf and a lot of scenes could have become much more awesome or chilling. There could have even been a Dilo-scene and Camo-Carnotaurus scene if they split it up!

AdminPraetorianNov-20-2019 5:57 PMAh dang, I just realized you're on a second account. Your first one was banned because you were a tad spicy back then. Since you seem to have grown up since then, so i'll unban that account and just ask you to use it. Our TOS forbids multiple accounts, so I have to enforce that.
