i think mindblowing too, lots of talk of FLT and time travel, sounds a little too contrived for my liking though.leaked synopsis said its the infected prometheus crew that mutate into skeletal monsters, then david slowly becomes human, the whole thing happens on earth but at the beginning of time.vickers ends up a starbeast then chases shaw back to the present where she ends up in a padded cell.theres always the hobbit in december if all else fails.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus Forumso the spacejockeys have to be humanoidFeb 16, 2012
people still talking about the skeletal monstrosities ???
it was from a fake plot ...
It already hard to make speculations on the few REAL infos we have ...but if you even start to make speculations on fake plots we are lost .....
there is NO leaked synopsis until now

I am not sure about Ridley folllowing the g-d created man in his own image stuff but I do believe that the Annunaki and just about all of the rest of the Ancient Alien Series may play some part in it and was in fact fodder for consideration to Ridley and that he may use a lot of it...the writting on the tablets for example ,as someone pointed out, looks extremely alike to that upon the Annunaki's "Left Behinds" here on earth.

Hmmmmm!!!! Big Blue Aliens? errr didn't James Cameron cover that, in Avatar?
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumso the spacejockeys have to be humanoidFeb 16, 2012
considering the giant blue head...the giant blue guy..and the numerous religious references of creators that look like identical larger versions of us..im going to bet you..hell i will guarantee you that the space jo ckes are human
rid ley if referencing a lot of creation myths with his material...the annunaki created humanity in that legend and they are depicted as taller humans...PROMETHEUS is the grecco roman creation myth...and finally there is the christian creation myth that states god created humanity in his likeness in his own image..so im guessing the engineers look just like us
the whole thing suggests creation myths...even the line in the trailer says its somthing about our" beginning" could be our end..im guessing they created us and they can destroy us as well
Replyade5Prometheus Forumso the spacejockeys have to be humanoidFeb 16, 2012
the space jocks i think are the good guys. a race of beings getting rid of a alien race that just kill to survive, maybe the space jocks are related to humans in some way, i mean they have to pay the bills and things.......
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumso the spacejockeys have to be humanoidFeb 16, 2012
i saw that image of the jockey the blue guy in the jockeys chamber...theyre definatly humanoid..im saying this because the guy is BLUE and hes also about 3 times as high as ash and the other humans were when they entered the jockey's chamber
ReplyhabidmPrometheus Forumso the spacejockeys have to be humanoidFeb 16, 2012
I believe they are humanoid .. ... but what makes me wonder is why their planet looks so deserted ... aren't they suppose to be a civilization..........???? Where is the rest of them..??? Or is not their home planet???????? and if they are advance species ... why they didn't see us coming in the first place....
ReplyEGR101Prometheus ForumI think Ridley Scott recycled some of the events from the ORIGINAL 'Alien' scripFeb 16, 2012
While I appreciate your pointing out the parallels in the earlier ALIEN script, I don't think Fox & Ridley Scott would trouble themselves by greenlighting $150 million high profile project just to rework an unrealized screenplay. I am sure there are elements of the early script present in the new movie, but with Damon Lindelof on board, you could expect more than just another excursion to an ancient temple for some alien stand-off.

You have some very interesting points Jeremy B. Although like Engr101 said above, I don't think they will want to retread old ground with a 150 million dollar budget. There will certainly be connections and easter eggs but direct connections like that are very unlikely. With Prometheus their main goal is to breathe new life into the series and take us back to the origins of the Alien franchise. After the atrocities of AVP FOX decided that reverting back to the original concept of both the Predator and Alien franchises would result in something better. Both series hadn't been touched in years and I think its great that FOX is redeeming both series with something fresh and original. Giving new audiences something awesome to experience but at the same time giving us fans something to appreciate as well.

we discussed this already several times here but it is in fact a very intersting subject. My take is it's his baby and he can do whatever he likes...I will love it...also, the Jockey Himself scratched the triangle into the control panel as we found out was written in Allen Dean Fosters Novelization...I think there is another BIG reveal as well from it in the news section right here on this board. BH posted the actual page from that book.

I think your absolutely right Jeremy B. I read somewhere, years ago when Ridley had just finished ALIEN, that they would have loved to hanve included the temple scenes and incorporate "HR's" glyphics, they just didn't have the budget.
There was always a back-story that Ridley wanted to explore, well it looks like he has now. I think the film will conclude with the derelict sitting on the planetoid and that will be the only direct linkage to Alien. The back story can go anywhere it wants and if there is any truth about a sequal in the offing, you can bet it wont have anything to do with the franchise so buggered-up by 2,3 and 4.

I think it's totally possible that they've resurrected some of the first Alien's original ideas. I'm definitely a supporter of the separate species theory, there was a quote at one time taken from one of the box sets where Ridley said something like "looking forward to returning to this world full of space Jockeys, aliens, and something even more dangerous you haven't seen yet"... *paraphrasing, maybe someone can find the quote
Way back there was also talk about a pyramid set being built and transported somewhere for this movie.
I'm seeing Egyptian themes popping up everywhere in what we've seen of the film so far, as well as some Sumerian links. That idea is out there that the Aliens were somehow able to gain intelligence eventually in the life cycle you're describing.
The sacrificial part of it has a certain edge to it that I like, it could be related to the bizarre rituals of the Egyptians, and the ritual sacrifices done by Sumerians, Bablyonians and the ancient Hebrew tribes, modelling themselves after their "gods" who were once on Earth according to alien astronaut theory. I think the human-like blue guys will have a lot in common with us, or ancient cultures that Shaw will notice, but they'll be somewhat following the old ways even though they have the high bio-tech developed for them by this separate species that they may worship in a way.

Dude - You are absolutely correct - Not seeing things Great find! This has made me think - That ultimately the derelict in Alien IS the one from Prometheus - But check this! The whole "Alien" story is just a big "sub plot" to the epic story of prometheus. A minor link in the massive chain - That is clever! That is succeeding on every level where Lucas failed in the "prequel" arena.

After seeing the official trailer I figured out that the derelict ship at the end of the trailer is the derelict on LV486 from the movie Alien. This is the "...the strand of Alien DNA" that Ridley Scott mentioned in his oft-(mis)quoted interview.
I take it that the freeze frame is from Ash's monitor as he's watching Dallas et al approach the derelict?

Replyred hoodPrometheus ForumSo the derelict crashesFeb 16, 2012
I've said it before, ship crashes due to SJ chest burst. Only way to tie it all in.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus ForumSo the derelict crashesFeb 16, 2012
yeah but wouldnt the jockeys know about the chest bursting and shouldnt that one jockey be in his ships med lab..you would think if they engineered the xenos...or used them as weapons they would know that if a face hugger attaches itself to you then you need to have the embryo removed
i think there might be some continuity problems because in alien the jockey was the alien and it had fossilized then ridley changed it to a biomechanical suit...that means the face hugger had attached itself to somoene before they go inside the suit as opposed to a face hugger attaching itself directly to the head of the bio suit
ReplyGreatBoosUpPrometheus ForumSo the derelict crashesFeb 16, 2012
I have a hard time imagining that little chestburster bursting out of the Space Jockey's massive sternum. Unless it waited until it was mature enough to force its way through. Still, looking at the Space Jockey's "helmet", the facehugger must have had a tricky time getting its penis inside of the Jockey's mouth to lay a larva in the SJ's chest. What with that hose running from the Jockey's nose down across his chest... Although that hose could have been attached after the facehugger withdrew from the Space Jockey and scurried away to die in a dark corner. So that hose we see wasn't attached to the Space Jockey the entire time he's in his chair? Maybe the Space Jockey was attacked by a facehugger before he gets into his chair. The SJ grows into his chair, attaches a hose to his nose, the chestburster punches its way out of SJ's chest after maturing for a couple of months. Now it makes sense.
Replyred hoodPrometheus ForumSo the derelict crashesFeb 16, 2012
If it doesn't happen during flight, look at pre flight and post flight. Pre flight why would he be in chair - if chair is for the pilot? Thats asumming it is a pilot chair. How would it take off to crash? Post flight makes no since. If the ship has crashed and will not fly, why would he be strapped in?
