that bring another discussion ....arent they focusing the attention a bit too much on Rapace ??? Every photo , every interview , everything ( almost ) is based on her .... she have even flashbacks ....with a father too!!!!!
Are really Elba , Fassbender and Pearce secondary characters ???? we really want a Ripley 2 ???
ReplySpartacusPrometheus Forum2 Females Survive any Significance?......Jan 16, 2012
I watched as Elba won a Golden Globe Award last night and I got my first "look and listen" of him. He seems like a "way cool" and down to earth guy to me, and I for one am very much looking forward to his role in Prometheus!!!
ReplywalterhillerPrometheus Forum2 Females Survive any Significance?......Jan 16, 2012
i really need to stop opening these threads. how do you know only 2 females survived. maybe the other crew jettisoned before. maybe the ship doesn't even crash. numerous possibilities if you use your imagination.
ReplyJuxtaposePrometheus Forum2 Females Survive any Significance?......Jan 16, 2012
Yes exactly Frantz!....that's what i am getting at.....tho i might be very wrong.....but the attention is almost to obviously focused on Noomi all the time....like we are supposed to believe that she is gonna be the next Ripley and everyone else is supposed to die a horrible death....which might very well be the case!
But I know that fox is rumored to throw some red herrings out their...so at this point I don't even trust what Ridley says anymore...cause he is most likely in on it.....i don't blame them tho....if I was in their shoes i would do the same....left to out own devices we might very well figure out the plot.....but we won't if they constantly confuse us with all kinds of false information and so called movie stills?....Tho I am speculating....it is all we can do for now!
ReplyGehirnPrometheus Forum2 Females Survive any Significance?......Jan 16, 2012
I bet you said that about Titanic too, walter. LOL!

@ walterhiller
Yeah i guess that is possible as well...imagine their is no casualties...how boring would that be...that might be an interesting and disappointing twist...come to think of it...not entirely impossible!

Dallas IS being cocooned to be a host for Brett who is in the midst of metamorphosis into the egg sack. This is a factual and actual scene that is back in the special edition of the film. Cameron changed the growth and stages of the alien to suit his need. Once more, NOTHING in any of sequels is being used as part of this movie so please stop using these references as speculative ammo.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
yeah but i thought it took a queen to lay a face hugger egg..
the fact is that the aliens ARE human like..they are bipedal and they have two arms wth human like fingers..HOWEVER this is because they come from a human host
ReplyCBT1979Prometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
Dude, the alien from ridley scott never
Had a queen alien as concept nor did
he stated that the alien's 2nd form
must be depending on its host.
Looking back at the hr giger alien
artwork and tge deleted scene with
brett and dallas, the life cycle of the
alien is different.
They used the victim to morph
into an egg again. Dallas was kept
alive to be a host for the face hugger
that used to be the corpse of brett.
The alien used brett as biomass to
Create new egg with face hugger.
ReplywalterhillerPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
i've got an even simpler explanation: common sense
plus the fact that this is ridley scott, not james cameron for some other hack.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
To me, & IMO with regard to the first film, No Internecivus Raptus had ever sucked in any human DNA until Ripley's Xeno first got to Kane.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
but like i said the alien is human like because the original hosts were human up until aliens 3
ReplyGame Over Man!Prometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
I think the xenos are their own speicies and no way descendants of humans. The SJs came across them somewhere in the universe and seen their value as a cleansing mechanism. Cleaning something up they created on a planet that went wrong possibly. Not sure where the eggs are coming from if Ridley has no plans for a queen. But since the engineers are creators I wont discount the possibility they created the xeno themselves.
ReplydeadcellPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
maybe the xenos are a sister species to us. they were to primitive and feral so the creators made us to replace them
ReplyGhost SolitarePrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
If you eliminate all the films that followed Alien. You saw only one Xenomorph. It's life cycle was illustrated much to Kane's misfortune. The deleted scene with Dallas, and Brett does show both of them cocooned with Brett's transformation much further along than whatever is happening to Dallas. That freaky xenomorph's metabolic reproductive chemistry is goddamned incredible. It was only a matter of HOURS people! Even butterflies take months, this indicates to me that the xenomorph is like a mayfly. It's entire life cycle must be very short due to it's accellerated metabolism. As for it's intellegence, it outsmarted, outmaneuvered, and out witted the entire crew of the Nostromo. It also got it's biomechanical ass on the Narcissus when Riply set the ship to self destruct. You've read the alternate ending, which would have established that the Alien was not only deadly, but highly intelligent. Eliminating that though, and using the film to base all of your assumptions it's a sadistic, killer. It likes to toy with it's victims, study them, and it's born with a biological imperative, to reproduce with any hosts available.
ReplyGame Over Man!Prometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
I know it is hard not to try and tie in the reproductive cyle with ALIENS but that cycle worked for me anyway even with a queen present. But we never really find out how the queen came to be from the reprod cycle. Plus we dont know 100% for certain what Ridley's life cycle would have been since we didn't see it through to producing another Xeno. Yes we know Brett was forming into an egg and Dallas was cocooned for the egg. But would have Dallas's xeno been a queen or just another drone xeno? No one knows for certain. Maybe that is why Ridley kept this out of the film because he wasn't quite sure how he wanted the reprod cycle to be.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
well aliens takes place on the same planet so you have to figure that the eggs from the derelect came from the queen as well
ReplyArchEtechPrometheus Forumi doubt the xenomorphs are descendants of mutated humans..heres whyJan 16, 2012
As a weapon I like the concept that the Xeno is a sister race but for a different purpose or maybe something the SJ found and corrupted into a killing machine.
Maybe we will see the base species before the SJ corrupt it. Maybe the humans in Prometheus get corrupted by the original corruptive goop hence the alien DNA in the film but a new concept.
interesting

Well, the cosmic control cockpit of the derelict and the suit might function as an elevator to higher demonsions otherwise, TAKE ME TO YOUR DEALER! Alteredstate, Eye like how's your hypnotizing. Ultimately with the right substances in your brain, it won't matter if Prometheus is a prequel or a sequel. And you won't have to worry about all the hype too! You'll just have to worry about the permanent mystery you take with you into your dreams when you come out of Highburnation. The Dream becomes the dreamer, If I had the ability to blast some bugs....I'd blast the roach ones first! It's very interesting that Space Marines also have snorkels.

l`m new to the post , and like most others ,,,,,Can`t wait
what do you guys think about the idea that the eggs in the opening below the SJ ship , each egg were put in a enclosed capsule to transport out of there area of space , but something happen when they landed ??? .
i keep looking at the trailer were the earth crew are walking around the eggs , but the shape of the eggs are not right..
ReplyGame Over Man!Prometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
LOL ncc1701 you are a reslient little bugger regarding you being new and your question. :)
Welcome btw
Regarding each egg in an enclosed capsule do you mean the urns? Im not quite sure what you mean by transport out of their area of space, and when you say landed are you talking on LV 426? In the trailers unless I missed it somewhere I do not see them walking around eggs, i see the urns. I cant really answer or reply to what your asking, i dont really understand what your asking.
ReplyflacnvinylPrometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
ncc1701 - In the trailer they are never 'walking around the eggs'. They are walking around urns. Nowhere in Prometheus have we seen the eggs.
Reply20thcenturybuickPrometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
i guess thngs fossilize raher quickly in space
ReplycraigamorePrometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
The SpaceJockey we see in 'Alien' is a suit made of God knows what material. Ridley Scott has said as much: "...who is that, inside that suit? That wasn’t a skeleton, that was a suit. And if you open up the suit, what do you get inside it?"
It may look organic, but doesn't have to be. Having never been alive, it can look fossilized to human eyes after decades of exposure to the planetoid's atmosphere, thus making the 'Prometheus' as prequel idea much more plausible.
ReplydeadcellPrometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
true but fossilization takes centuries, if the jockey was fossilized and the eggs survived that long. ash was right about the perfect organism

ReplyelderPrometheus ForumThe space jockey race will be explained in PrometheusJan 16, 2012
yeah besides the arm it does look decent . hmmm maybe with the addition of the air processers in aliens it settled the weather. ( even though the wind was just as hard in both movies lol) but maybe wind produced by oxygen is less damaging then wind from another gaseous chemical. lol not sure
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumInterior detailsJan 16, 2012
everything look much more metallic than in alien ...is a stylish decision or is part of the plot ? ... the jockey chair is more metallic...the SJ suits are more metallic ...ampules are more metallic than eggs ... what is inside ampules is more metallic than a face hugger ... the SJs ship is much less round ...
