Mr.JPrometheus ForumOfficial 720p Trailer - Slowed down 90%Dec 22, 2011
The "engineer's" seems to be biomechanoid in form, as we see with the dude standing as the chair rises from the platform...where I am getting at is that their bodies connect with the suit biologically like a symbiotic suit....would explain the weird markings on his body...

looks like the guy in pain with acid in his face or maybe mutating could be Holloway. His name on his forehead resembles something like it

I would have agree but I think this in shot, He might be trying to escape of bring the cargo ship to earth with the eggs or something sinister...also, the Prometheus has a large crew which IMDB has not listed..we just know of the main actors and supporting guys but there seems to be more people on this crew...as we see when they are scanning the SJ helmet....somehow, some of these people get mutated or killed obviously... but as for the Biomech-humanoids....we will see more perhaps but in this shot...the ill fated driver of the infamous ship...who has a chestburster of some kind get out of him, being infected by his own weapon...

and of course we are not sure hes an engineer .. we yet dont know ....can be a bot , a mercenary , a mutant , whatever

Read the Greek myth about Prometheus; it might have something to do with your theory. Maybe Prometheus is an engineer and not the spaceship?
I've heard that the human spaceship's name is Magellan, but it has also been called Prometheus (possibly erroneously) in one interview.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumSymbiotic RelationshipsDec 22, 2011
and after all we are not yet sure that that was an engineer ...
ReplyMr.JPrometheus ForumSymbiotic RelationshipsDec 22, 2011
Good spotting, makes more sense to make the ship the Magellan. What if David transforms into this creature...android and a bio-mechanical relationship going on? We don't know how many they will encounter as well, engineers that is...it would seem like they created us in their image..which would explain the similarities with us and them....
ReplyGame_Over_ManPrometheus ForumSymbiotic RelationshipsDec 22, 2011
Entertainment Weekly published an article where the human ship was called "The Prometheus"...apparently it remains the only published confirmation of the ships name.
ReplyMicro changes in air densityPrometheus ForumSymbiotic RelationshipsDec 22, 2011
Yes if the sj are our creators and are humanoid then the advent of the android into the mix could produce to bio mech beasts we know. It would seem odd to call an exploration ship Prometheus. Sounds like you know you'r going to steal something.

I often thought that David has a hand in the Alien creation. I know I keep talking about that "plot leak" but a lot of that makes sense, even just seeing the three teasers and this trailer. In interviews, Fassbender states about the view of the events as a non-human, and finding out what it means to be human, or having to rise above and become more than just human. All I know is, now that the cat is out of the bag, we're going to be getting a sever influx of information over the next few months. I just keep looking to Fangoria and Rue Morgue because they have always had feature articles (if not the cover story) on the Alien franchise, and given the darkness of this film, I feel they will have something amazing in the next three or four months to tell us.
ReplyMr.JPrometheus ForumSymbiotic RelationshipsDec 22, 2011
The goo effect on David will be an interesting idea or if the "engineers" capture him and let loose on experiments on him...thus starting something that should of not been started.
ReplyTromatizerPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey skull!!!!Dec 22, 2011
You know what, that does make more sense. The "head" just seemed too wide to be the SJ from Alien.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey skull!!!!Dec 22, 2011
well is very similar to the one of alien ..and it seems the one that the two women are examining in one of the previous photos ...i think was the helmet of the suit that was a bit far off ...
ReplyMicro changes in air densityPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey skull!!!!Dec 22, 2011
This has been bandied about. It's the head of the jockey suit Shaw is examining in the ampule room.

Wondering why it looks very organic (even fossiled) in comparison to that technical appearance in the space jockey chair sequence and the whole set looks like a biological or medical laboratory instead of an engineers room for technical research.
It really could be that helmet wrapping around the jockeys head, but maybe also a dead skull which still comes from that mysterious alien race most of us hope to see approaching.
A lot of facts point into exactly another direction, but I really need more than a mutated human being and "humanoid gods". My whole fascination of ALIEN and the Space Jockey was all about an outer world race which is so very strange to ours that nobody could get a real imagination or would be immidiately grossed out (->reference to artwork of Giger).

Good work getting that close up posted. Looking at it on a real computer (as compared to my smart phone during the first viewing), it does appear that the design over the nose/mouth could very well be the top of the trunk apparatus, and it does seem to have a closed mouth beneath it...

amazing that I ID'd that thing on the first pass on the crappy first leaked cam trailer
ReplyTromatizerPrometheus ForumSpace Jockey skull!!!!Dec 22, 2011
Wow! lol keen freakin eyes! Was that the comicon one or the other one? I've been trying to find the comicon one for a while because, assuming I remember correctly, there were scenes in there that haven't been shown since...
Replydb73Prometheus ForumCircular Engineer ShipDec 22, 2011
I was intriqued by this scene in the trailer as well. Doesn't seem to be much mention of it though. Is it a craft? Looks like your classic saucer shaped UFO. Don't know what make of this as it doesn't appear to tie into anything else we've seen so far ....... If indeed it is some sort of ship.
ReplyNot_my_intentionPrometheus ForumCircular Engineer ShipDec 22, 2011
idk why but i always thought of space jockey technology to be biologically based, as in they do not build there ships, they are "grown" kind of like the tardis from doctor who. if that is true then all of them are different, so that was was a weird alien harp looking thing and this one is a more classic looking saucer.

ReplyTromatizerPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
lol i know, i know. It should have been Alien: Damnation. That's what you get when you hand a franchise over to a french surrealist hahaha

One good theory there Trom to do with Alien Resurrection. If we go with a pregnancy theory - read the other treads - and lets say it's Shaw and she survives it. How will it affect her. Maybe it would enhance her genetically and turn her into a mighty beast. There are certainly shots of her under going some form of change/pain or something horrendous.
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
and again "Resurrection" was a whopping success at the box office as well. Despite what people will say, and they can say anything they want, My belief is 2 fold on that subject. 1- Have you made anything better yourself? and 2 - Did it turn a profit and was it as original as all 4 of the films in the quadrilogy all are?
ReplyTromatizerPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
I'm not hating on Resurrection, but as an Alien movie, it just didn't seem to fit the mold. I enjoyed it as if it were a comic book film because the focus was more on the characters and quips than the actual aliens themselves. Joss Wedon is an amazing writer, but I prefer to keep my Alien films rooted in horror. But each film had it's own focus. The first was like Jaws in space, the second was more about a reactionary response via the military, the third introduced the concept of tangible humans (as opposed to a disembodied company) being just as monstrous, and the forth, well, like I said... it felt more like a comic book film. You could take all of those characters and story details (sans Ripley), put any type of creature in the place of the aliens and i'd do just as well at the box office.
Replydb73Prometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
Sure thing, Miser. If people like Resurection then good for them. Personally I thought it was bloody awful! Whent to see it with my then girlfriend and walked out just before the end when the human/alien hybrid made an appearance. I already had quite enough long before that. It looks fantastic. No doubt about that. But I didn't like the ideas in it and the plot line was pants. Posieden Adventure on a space ship with Xenomorphs instead of Telly Savalas. Not the most imaginative plot line. I always liked the story in the Dark Horse comics that followed on from the Aliens film. Some great ideas in that. I also thought Alien 3 was absolutely superb, although maybe not the best continuation of the franchise. A great film in its own right. Ressurection though? Like the new Star Wars trilogy I prefer to pretend it never actually happened ;-)
ReplySpartacusPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
I understand WHY people did not like it, but for me, It does not bother me in the least, my expectations for films are most often wrong, it is the artists vision and not my own no matter how hard my ego and subconscious mind attempt to make it so.
ReplyAgent MothmanPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
I agree with Sparticus. I for one liked Resurrection, and while it may not be as good as the legendary Alien, it is still worthy to be apart of the great saga that is Alien.
ReplyNot_my_intentionPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
i have no comment on the Resurrection thing, i would like to but i do not want to get in a fight with anybody. i heard people talking about another expedition before the Prometheus crew? well what if this guy is one of that crew who went crazy? starts killing them. kind of like sunshine but less religion involved.
ReplyFrantzPrometheus ForumIdea on the jumping "mutant"...Dec 22, 2011
to support your theory there is the long beard of the mutant guy ...also the "soon to be " spacejockey can be a member of the other crew too
